RE: above post #901, SS = 'The Alpha Alternative' should NOT be merged as it falls into accepted category = published online as a specified short story (i.e. not a "bonus"). FWIW, 'alt POV' only in that KMM's Fever series began w/ as single POV (Mac).
IMHO, fact that SS incorporated into later book should not make difference/nullify separate listing after the fact. Kinda like reverse of anth short later published separately? Also, IIRC, audio made of SS.

Karma, thanks for your explanation. Originally I thought it would fall under the policy of a short story published on the author's website. I did some research, looking at other examples, looked at 834, and asked about it for more detail on the plot from a couple of friends that have read it, just to make sure it was the same chapter and I wasn't misunderstanding the reference. I understand what you mean with "reverse of anthology short."
The question might be if this chapter was published as a short story before the actual book #1 was published.
If it is an alternate POV of a chapter in book #1, I don't see why it wouldn't fall under the policy in the manual. I would ask that the moderator or someone else more experienced with these to make the decision.
I definitely don't want to merge it (either into book 1 or book 7) if it shouldn't be. I'll be happy to separate it back out. This is just one of those uncommon examples that I don't come across very often.

(2) Yes, definitely an uncommon example. Been yrs so memory fuzzy & copy of SS not handy, but IIRC, actual scene not in Fever #1. As far as readers know, MCs d/n have sex until later book (which is why SS ruffled some feathers when pub'd on author's website).
But now I'm curious b/c SS listed @ 16pgs, which is bit much for single sex scene, no? ;-) So you/your friends may be right.
When home, will have to locate Fever #1 & compare actual text of Chapter against SS to see extent of difference vs. overlap!

Jessica, I managed to correct / include most of the data you provided, having checked it on Amazon and WorldCat first.
But combining with the other editions is a feature which has been suspended for some days for site maintenance. I'll come back later and do that as well.

I don't understand. It has been added to my author profile as one of my books, but it has not been published. I have no idea how someone has managed to read it as it only exists in manuscript form at present. Can I find out who added it, and can I remove it?

990. I merged Raymond Feist into Raymond E. Feist and combined the German edition with the others. There was no other book to merge it with as the ones I saw all seemed to have unique ASINs.
Someone else may want to combine and perhaps correct the titles of a few other German books that transferred over when I merged the authors.
