#500 Not done, was able to find an unused ASIN to match the dup's cover art on Audible.com, added that and recombined.
#501 No merge, but combined. Next time please create a separate thread in the Book Issues folder as this is not the right thread for combine requests.

Stopping here. Thank you to everyone posting :)

combined it with #1 as the box set only contains 3 instead of 5 books and wasn't sure if that would be similar enough

Could you please delete this book from my profile. It was created by mistake on my part. Thank you so much!

For general purposes of this thread, delete/merge = cake batter, whilst combine = mixed salad."
I have *no* idea what you are trying to say here. Less of the text talk might help?
I have been trying to explain to you what merging is (maybe some of the supers also want to chime in, now you chose to continue the discussion here instead of in a new thread, as I asked).
One more time and then I'll forever hold my tongue: what I've been trying to explain to you and what you just can't seem to get into your head is that a merge does not start until the Delete This Book link is clicked, and that from that moment on there is no turning back.
So no, merges *cannot* be undone.

Thx for confirming—w/o any room for ambiguity—that you posted & posted & posted re: this matter w/o ANY notion of context/actual circumstances.
(also, sometimes silence is answer in itself)
ETA: 'text talk' not deliberate. more restriction on typing due to peripheral neurppthy. so sorry.

This is a public forum.
First, it would be ever so much easier to understand your posts if you would use words instead of acronyms, abbreviations, and/or texting shortcuts.
Regarding the discussion of the difference between Combine and Merge, I think perhaps your confusion is exacerbated by the wording in the Librarian Manual. Yes, sometimes editions are combined before they are merged. Not always. If a record is to be merged into the default edition, no separate-and-combine action is required. The only reason for the separate-and-combine two-step is to assure the reviews and shelvings are moved from the duplicate to the correct record. That's all. That action is 2 steps: (1) separate the two editions, and (2) combine them with each other. That's it. (It's only one step if you use the Separate Tool, which separates and combines as one action.)
Now those two editions are sitting out there, separate from the other editions. They could sit there forever. Or until someone comes along and recombines them. Or merges them.
The merge process is a completely separate action. The librarian performing the merge opens the duplicate record, goes to the bottom of the page, and selects "delete." That's it: One step. Not two.
In practical terms, when we identified a record to be merged into a non-default record, we'll separate out the two records. Typically, we'll delete (ie, merge) the duplicate just as soon as two records are separated.
In this folder, the two records have already been separated-and-combined. Our sole action after we've verified the request is to merge the record as requested by deleting the duplicate. That action cannot be undone.
While I'm sure this has been an interesting and informative discussion, it is disruptive to this thread. I suggest doing as Lethe had suggested earlier and opening a Discussion thread should you wish to pursue the topic further.

So sorry my neuropathy prevents me from typing out fully. Just spent over hour composing post on series so I'm done now. On everything.
ETA: perhaps not. eyes skimmed your post. thx for assuming that i d/n know process & not addressing actual issue. but heaven forfend *I* take up space on thread. now my fingers are truly done. thx again

Support does not remove them either. At least, the likelihood is very low. Anyone is welcome to contact Support for any reason, but for clarity, it is not just a matter of "contacting them because librarians can't do it."

also DVD https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

I've nabed and merged so many of these DVDs last year and there are again so many :/
Folks, let's keep this thread for requests for merges/deletions and clarifications/follow-ups directly related to those requests.
Side discussions of how Goodreads Librarians use certain words and phrases would be fine in a separate thread, but not in this one.
