My best guess is that this would have been written in the 80s, but I'm not sure. I *think* it was about a girl who befriended a set of twins and then had to deal with learning that one of the twins was very sick. In my memory, the name "Marnie Sachs" stands out, and I think that the sick twin was on dialysis -- however, I have to wonder if I'm mixing books together in my mind, because you'd think that I'd have been able to find it by now with those details! Sound familiar to anyone?

Amber (Daisymau) wrote: "Could it be something by author Lurlene McDaniel? She wrote about teens that were sick or dying."I looked at a long list of her books today. I remember a few of them, but I didn't see the one I'm thinking of. I might take a closer look tomorrow, though, because I definitely do not trust my memory on this!
FOUND IT!! The book is Making Half Whole, by Terry Wolfe Phelan. After hours and hours of Googling, I finally came across a Reddit post by someone else searching for this book. It's like finally scratching an itch you haven't been able to reach for years!
