Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
Well, for the first time I have used my exception clause for reading in order. I read How Dare the Sun Rise: Memoirs of a War Child for the book set in the southern hemisphere, since it's set in the DRC and then Burundi. However, the last third or more of the book takes place in upstate New York. So I was feeling a little iffy about using it there. So I'm going ahead and slotting it in prompt #39: author's whose name you're not sure how to pronounce, because it fits perfectly there. I've listened to her saying her name several times now and I still don't think I've got it.

1. Thou shalt not spend more time planning than reading. I completely ignored this rule last year so I moved it up to the top. You know, so I can ignore it more completely.
2. No double dipping within a challenge, but it's ok to use a book for as many challenges as I want.
3. Start as many challenges as you want, but remember that just like books, if you're not enjoying it, you don't have to finish it.
4. I will be doing the ATY challenge in order this year! With one big change: if I read a book and it happens to work perfectly for a later prompt, I can choose to go ahead and stick it in that later prompt. It must fit perfectly and I have to make that decision immediately after reading the book. No retroactive laziness. I'm adding this in mainly because the last time I did the challenge in order, I got frustrated with later prompts that weren't up my alley and that I had already read a book for much earlier in the year on accident.
5. The Most Important Rule of All: enjoy reading!
