I read a mystery/romance book series about a group of four women who were friends since middle school, when they were originally five. One of them died and since then they have been trying to live their lives while pushing their feelings/thoughts of their dead friend in the back of their minds. The problem is there is always a killer in town around the same time a handsome stranger catches their attention.
