I'll be reading Sex and the Single Princess by Bonnie Dee and Marie Treanor for this week's roll. Woot, killing two birds with one stone! This book is being used in another challenge for me, so it works out well!
Gotta love when that happens! Honestly, there is nothing more satisfying than a book fitting perfectly in like six challenges at once lol

Same! Right now I'm working on 10 solo challenges, 2 team challenges, and the SRC so most of the books I read need to fit at LEAST six or seven of those to even make the roster of "books to read next". I like the challenge of it, trying to wiggle and adjust books around to fit so many different things at once. It's like a never-ending puzzle :D

Review:
Having read the preceding three books in the series, to which I had very lackluster reactions to, I went into this hoping it would redeem the series, but expecting it to disappoint me, from my prior experiences. I have to admit I was right. The book dragged quite a bit for me, to the point that, only five chapters in, I wanted to quit the book. I persevered, but not even the erotic scenes redeemed the book! The hero was descended from the original shoemaker from The Elves and the Shoemaker, and this was mixed with the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairytale to form the basis for the story. Iris was unbelievable as a heroine because for the bulk of the book, she seemed so vapid and uncaring of nothing but her own need for beautiful footwear. Then, in an abrupt shift, she becomes a woman of the people, much like Princess Diana, and wants to stop an invasion. It didn't ring true! To me, the story was unremarkable at best, and the death knell for the series for me. If any more are released, I'll be avoiding them. As for the four already released, I'll be deleting them from my Kindle library, as I don't believe that I will re-read them again, when there is so many more erotic novels that I found to be better than this series.

I just finished this installment. As always, this series is just plain fun, and funny to read. The main focus of book #8 is Georgia's confusion over who to choose as her boyfriend, Wet Lyndsay always being in the way, and the class camping trip. This series is not all about a "plot" really, but what does go on feels very real. Just like with all of the books before this one, there are many laugh out loud moments. Also, now that I have read several of these books in quick succession I notice that I am using some of Georgia's words. (she sort of makes up her own little language that is very catchy). Once again, we are left with a cliff hanger, but I don't mind because I like reading these books so much.

I have spent far too long debating things that I saw as merits and things that just left me with the most confused look on my face.
I want to put "?" after each shelf selection. Genre? Stuff? Things?
Sci-Fi? There's science-y fiction-y bits? If you squint? Mystery/Thriller? A dash. Horror? I think my confusion shielded me from parts that should have been more horriffic? BUT I DEFINITELY READ IT ON MY KINDLE, SO THERE'S THAT.
I didn't OMGLOVEIT, but alternatively I didn't hate it. It read fairly quickly for me, but the vague-talk did get a little annoying or drag at times.
Our narrator is
There's talk of samples and research and everything, but where's the actual science? Where's the sciencey bits that tell me WHAT THE EFF---

Pretty sure this happened in the creative process.
What is Area X? No clue, really.
What's happening there? Yeah, I still can't answer that.
Am I in danger of spoiling anything? Not really, because I know only slightly more than I did when I started the book.
On the other hand, now I feel compelled to read the other books and see if I will ever have any spoiler-worthy knowledge regarding these books.
I feel like Brad Pitt's character in Seven. WHAT'S IN THE BOX???? WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!? TELL ME WHAT'S IN THE BOX!!
(Alert: There is no "box". Hopefully that is not a spoiler. Unless you're throwing the book down in dismay now. WHAT?? THERE ARE NO BOXES IN THIS BOOK??
I AM OUTRAGED .)

Well that was completely unsatisfying. I had high hopes after the third book finally turned this into a decent series but...
This is 350 pages of Kaylee being a whiny bitch. That's literally it. That's the book. Page 1- Kaylee sucks. Page 350- Kaylee still sucks. End of book.
We're introduced to Sabine in this one, Nash's ex girlfriend. Who I feel like I'm supposed to hate but I actually like her so incredibly much more than I like Kaylee that I was hoping the book ended with Sabine and Nash getting back together and Kaylee wasting away into nothing.
Perhaps in book 5.
PS: Tod remains precious, flawless, and better than your faves, god bless.

Review: I had problem deciding between 3 stars or 4 stars when rating this novel as I while I think the book is a 4 stars on its own compared to previous books in the same series it is definitely a 3 star rating. It was still well written and there is undoubtedly some great quote throughout the book but there just felt like some of the magic of the previous ones, so to speak, was absent from this one.

Review:
This book wasn't as good as the first book in the series. The plot was weak, in my opinion, and there were not one, but two different main character separations for really stupid reasons. I couldn't form a connection with Joe, Phoebe was a bit superficial, and Matt was a complete jerk. Yet, we do get to see how Joe falls completely head over heels in love with Phoebe and does everything he can to make sure she knows that she has been desired by other men. While it was a quick and somewhat entertaining read, I didn't enjoy it as much as I had the first book and I'm not certain how I feel about reading the next book in the series.
I DO WHAT I WANT CAIT. I'll be reading it anyway for SRC.
lol. Thanks for being a great Captain! (And for poking me to step in. It was fun. :P I know you've already said you told me so, but feel free to say it again.)
I can't believe it is over already! It has been lots of fun and hopefully we will see each other again in future challenges:)
