December 2014: Snowmen (Master List and General Discussion)

In December 2014, we will read books featuring snowmen (including snowwomen, snowchildren and snowanimals).

This is the place to discuss picture books about snowmen above and beyond the seven books covered in our December 2014 discussion.

I enjoyed Snowmen at Christmas and see that the author also has several others including Snowmen at Night, Snowmen All Year, and Snowmen at Work

Snowbaby Could Not Sleep

The Smiley Snowman or Snow Friends(M. Christina Butler's animals are SO cute)

The Snowman (Raymond Briggs' book is a bit of a classic, I think)

Snow Party

Making a Friend (I have really enjoyed some of Alison McGhee's other books)



And perhaps some version of "Frosty the Snowman"?

I was going to nominate the Snowman by Raymond Briggs also--loved the movie they made of it and the haunting song-Walking in the Air.

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is an established classic, but I don't remember for sure if there's actually a snowman in it.

Brigg's would be good for discussion, because I did *not* like or 'get' it and would love to be persuaded re' its value.
