Amanda | 6 comments I read this book years ago, it's for children, and I can't remember what it's called for the life of me! I remember a girl going out to live in an old house on the countryside with a woman (I think she was an artist, but I'm not sure) and her dog, named Cobweb. In the bedroom she thinks she sees some kind of tree spirit in the tapestry or something like that, and later on a river close by the house floods the whole garden, leaving it under water. Does anyone recognize this book?

Are there paranormal elements to the story, or just the girl just have a vivid imagination?

Do you remember why she goes to live with the woman, who I am assuming is not her Mum?

Do you remember what country it is set in?

What about when it's set?

When did you read it?

Where did you find it?

How did you find it?

Do you remember anything about the cover?

Amanda | 6 comments Hi, I'm afraid I read a translated version of the book (in swedish) so as to the cover, I don't think it helps. If it's similar to the original however, it was green, with treebranches on it; I think, also green.

It's set around when it was written ehich I'd estimate is twenty years ago or so? Maybe a little more. It's also either in Great Britain or America, not sure which.

If I remember correctly, she goes to live with the woman over the summer, probably due to her parents not having the time to watch over her. I remember a part in the beginning when she's in the car going to the woman and is amazed by the quiet on the countryside, as well as how clean it is.

I read it some years ago but it is much older than that, as my youngest aunt read it when she was a teenager. I realize many old books gets lost over time, but I would love to find this one again!
