Yes, that's the trick. Having a device that uses apps.

I think Amazon has been having a sale on kindle fire. Might be worth it, though honestly I have read more books from Scribd than listened to audios.
i'll admit, i finally caved and bought a kindle fire (already had a paperwhite) - mostly bcause they offered me the 5 monthly payment option

So how do you like using scribd with your kindle fire, Dee?

For reading the Scribd app is fine. It tends to be much slower downloading audios than my iPhone though. But the audio is fine especially since I am not paying for them.

Thanks Dawn.
Thanks Dawn.
I've just now found the time to sign up for the 3 free months, and the code is no longer valid even though it says the promotion is good through October 2015. And they don't even give you a free month trial anymore, only 2 weeks. Has anyone found any other promo codes? I also read on Ilona Andrews' blog that Scribd is going to stop offering romance ebooks. Not sure about audiobooks, and I don't know when that will start.
they aren't stopping offering romance books, but they have drastically culled their romance offerings...apparently they realized the power readers (primarily romance) were costing them too much money...
I found a new promo code that works at the moment, good for a 3-month trial. Here's the link if anyone is interested.http://thereadingdate.com/2015/04/25/...
I couldn't get the app to play audiobooks on my ipod since I have an older one, but I can play them on my kindle fire. Not my preferred choice for listening to books, but good enough to listen to some for free. There's just not a good enough selection for me to keep it past the trial. Most of the audios they have are at my online library.
