For editions to be merged with something other than the work default, please remember to separate out the two editions for merging before posting in this thread.

NOTE: This thread is for requesting the deletion of true duplicates -- two entries for the same edition of a book. If you need help with anything else (e.g.: moving books off an author's page where they have appeared in error, author disambiguation, combining editions, etc.) please start a NEW THREAD in this folder.

Felicia J. | 9 comments Please delete:

I just posted a corrected entry for this book. My first attempt (linked above) had the author and adaptor mixed up.

message 7: by Sophia (new)

Sophia | 1 comments For the series Phoenix Rising, by Erica Verrillo, there are two entries for each book, one with the regular Goodreads format and one with the series title first, then the title of the book. Would the second one be deleted? The ones under the second format have no ratings and only one comment.
The first link is the regular formatted one, the second is the other one.

Elissa's Quest

Elissa's Odyssey

World's End

Renske | 10980 comments 6 Merged into the right edition.

7 Those are valid editions, that needed to be combined with the other editions. And I edited the titles.

message 9: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 2 comments I was having the toughest time finding this book on Goodreads so I ended up adding one.
Then, low and behold, I found it. Please delete my entry and leave the following entry.
I will mention that I couldn't find the book under the title Cut and Run. I had to search Phoenix Code.

Thank you!

Philip (burnnerman) | 5913 comments #10 - Will leave it up to a super for the deletion, but just to let you know when I searched for "Cut and Run" it did show up. It was on the second page of results.

Easy way to search if it does not show up right away is by either the ASIN or ISBN.

message 11: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 2443 comments Got 10

There is a cache delay on the search, sometimes the search for title doesn't work right away. Also, Cut and Run is a popular title. Sometimes partial title and author's last name works better.

16 That is an edition with a different cover.

message 17: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl Bad ISBN, though.

message 18: by Richard (new)

Richard Penn (richardpenn) Trying to visualise what a superlibrarian could be. Obviously they'd have the power to stop someone talking just by looking at them... Glasses, I'm afraid, inevitable.

rachel ☾ (typedtruths) | 1349 comments Is this new topic still doing merges as well as deletions?

If so can

and this please be merged

message 20: by Renske (new)

Renske | 10980 comments 18 For me the cover that makes that edition unique is more important than a bad ISBN. The ISBN can be edited.

19 Regular librarians can't do certain edits when a book is added more than a certain times, to prevent too large mistakes. Superlibrarians can do things beyond those numbers. (although we can't do everything, some things are limited to the Goodreads staff.)

20 Yes, merges are what we do most of the time in this thread. Done.

Skyla, can you provide a link to something from the author that says book 3 is the last in the series? Like a blog post or something? Thanks!

Found the complete ISBN and the publisher's page to confirm. Deleted truncated ISBN13 and added details to book record.

Daniel Kaine (danielakaine) | 1 comments Please can we delete the following two books? These were books that were scheduled for publication, however due to changes in circumstances this is no longer the case. There are currently no plans to complete the first book, and the second has been postponed indefinitely.

Please do not "update" valid editions of a book, even if they are now out of print. Edits contrary to policy have been reverted, and a new edition has been added:

message 46: by rachel ☾ (new)

rachel ☾ (typedtruths) | 1349 comments Sorry I am asking a lot of questions tonight! Do these two books need to be merged though? I know they have different dates but I am not sure that is enough to make another edition. It could have just been a typo.

I'm not pretty sure if it's better to merge it with one of these other french editions, or to just delete it, as it's not complete in its details at all.
