PamG (lynguy1) | 1147 comments Here is my review of a military thriller: Relentless Relentless (Rogue Team International #2) by Jonathan Maberry by Jonathan Maberry. This is the is the second book in Rogue Team International (RTI) series featuring Joe Ledger. Overall, this novel is a shockingly dark, disturbing, and emotional ride. The story immediately pulls the reader in and never lets him or her off the rollercoaster of action and emotion.

Karen (xkamx) | 101 comments Just finished a bunch of Kayt Miller's work...

First, I read her Palmer Sisters series. I originally read Lainie in August 2018, but never read the rest of the series. Of course, I had to reread Lainie before reading the others. :o)

** Lainie The Palmer Sisters Book 1 by Kayt Miller ** Agatha The Palmer Sisters Book 2 by Kayt Miller ** Sadie The Palmer Sisters Book 3 by Kayt Miller ** Cortland The Palmer Sisters Book 4 by Kayt Miller ** Keely The Palmer Sisters Book 5 by Kayt Miller ** Violet The Palmer Sisters Book 6 by Kayt Miller ** Molly The Palmer Sisters Book 7 by Kayt Miller **
The series comprises seven stories, the five Palmer sisters along with a brother- and a sister-in-law. All are sweet, funny, and a bit steamy (but on the "cleaner" side of steamy). I reviewed Lainie when I originally read it. Though it had it's issues, I enjoyed it overall.

I feel the same about the rest of the books. While I love the humor, love, and basic stories (3-4.5 stars for the different books), they each have their issues. And, I enjoyed some stories more than others. Though technically standalones, events in the books take place within the same time frame so the stories overlap one another -- some scenes are repeated in all the books, but from different points of view. Each moves the girls' overall stories along.

In their entirety, the first six books span a year or so in time. Book seven, Molly, takes place a couple of years later (her daughter is an infant in the first book and three at the start of her story). The good thing is we get updates on the different couples as they interact with one another in each story.

Then, I noticed a couple of Miller's books in my "to read" file. They were from her Bedhead series.

** Bedhead by Kayt Miller ** Redhead (Bedhead #2) by Kayt Miller ** Deadhead (Bedhead #3) by Kayt Miller ** Wedhead (Bedhead #4) by Kayt Miller **

I remembered reading the first-in-series, Bedhead. So I started with the second, Redhead. As I read, things seemed familiar. I figured I'd started the book, but never finished. Of course, I read to the end of Redhead realizing it was all familiar before I checked my read list. Turns out, I'd read the entire series one after the other and never deleted it out of the TBR file. How sad is it that I didn't remember?

The series comprises stories of college friends. Quinn Maxwell is the "Bedhead." She is awakened early one morning with a FaceChat call made by a couple of guys from the UK seeking their mate, Maxwell Quinn, who'd recently moved to the US. She and one of the men, rugby star Cooke Thompson, strike up a long distance friendship that turns into more.

The "Redhead" is Quinn's childhood BFF (redhead) Taylor Sorenson. She's recently out of a long term relationship with her high school boyfriend (the cheater!). Taylor falls for Quinn's boss, Luke Green. (This one ends on a cliffhanger. I hate that!)

In Deadhead, Quinn's friend Gage Golden, a police officer, investigates the crime "hanging" from Redhead and finds his own happiness. (Of course, I had to read it to get closure.)

The descriptions mention the "Beedle Babes," a group of female college friends, including Quinn, who share a rental on Beedle Road. They and the "Rugby Guys" (fans of Quinn's boyfriend who play for the college rugby team), are mainly in the first book. In subsequent books, they show up at parties and bars, help with moves, etc.. but aren't really main focuses.

Wedhead is a epilogue of sorts, a short story which features Quinn and Cooke. We get updates on the rest of the Beedle Babes and their relationships, too.

I loved the humor in these books as well as the love stories. I wasn't sorry I reread the books I did. I'm now trying to keep myself from rereading Bedhead because I really did love Quinn and Cooke's story.

PALMER SISTERS...
** Lainie
** Agatha
** Sadie
** Cortland
** Keely
** Violet
** Molly

BEDHEAD...
** Bedhead
** Redhead
** Deadhead
