I just finished up the Face on the Milk Carton the other day! I can't believe it shows up on the banned books listKatrina wrote: "Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "I really liked "The Face On The Milk Carton"."
I've been meaning to read it for years! So glad to finally get around to it."
I'm reading Fire World by Chris D'Lacey. I hated to skip a couple in the series, but this one fit a task. I'm loving it. :-)
I am reading Legend in Green Velvet by Elizabeth Peters and The Aviary by Katherine O'Dell for the Go Green Challenge (15.4).
I am currently reading The Devil's Tickets: A Vengeful Wife, a Fatal Hand, and a New American Age by Gary M. Pomerantz, but keep getting distracted by all the other books I want to read for the challenge too. I think I may start Changing by Lily Hoang today. Can't resist!
Dionisa - I get what you mean about being distracted. I have three books going on at once now but am sooo tempted to start on another.I'm currently reading Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea, Swallows and Amazons (on kindle) and The Game of Kings (reeeally hard to get through the first 100 pages, I heard - and it's proving true).
The Lisa Unger ebook that I am currently reading (Darkness, My Old Friend: A Novel) is very good. I have now marked your book, Kyle, as a TBR as Lisa Unger is a very good writer.

Fragile was the first book I read by Lisa Unger and I liked it (despite the hokey ending). Both books involve the same characters.

It's banned because of the occult the woman who kidnapped Janie were associated with
I didn't find that mentioned on the ALA website - they said the sexual situations and not listening to adult authority...but the occult would be a reason too I guess
I didn't think there were sexual situations and not listening to adult authority, which adult authority? This is why I hate the banned list and their reasons because their reasons are so vague and it doesn't always makes sense. I read one of the books of the "Alice" series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor and is a coming of age series about a 12 year old girl. When claiming points for last challenge we had to state the reason it was banned. One of the reasons was homosexuality. Now I read 8 books out of this 22 book series and I couldn't find anything that would reference homosexuality. It is a good series though.
neither did I...I guess her and Reese getting a hotel room but not really and some making out...lol! I'm getting ready to read Shine for a 25 pointer which has been banned for homosexuality since its about a GLBT hate crime - well, duh, of course there will be homosexuality in it...
I got 2 big books in progress - 11/22/63 (for 5.6) and The Bronze Horseman (10.1) and 3 shorter books - Rogue Angel for 15.9; Bear, Otter, and the Kid (15.5) and Fight or Flight (10.8)
Couldn't decide what to read next so got out the random number generator and generated numbers to match the rows in my spreadsheet, so I'm about to begin
for task 30.3. :)

and i'm listening to The Scent of Rain and Lightning for 15.1
I am now reading The Earth Hums in B Flat
(10.7 - "earth" in title) and The Mournful Teddy
(10.8 - less than 1,000 ratings)
my first DNF of the challenge...I made it through all of 3 chapters, plus the intro of The Paris Wife - not sure if it was the narrator or the book though
Have just finished the immensely enjoyable A Redbird Christmas - Fannie Flagg. I am now about to embark on reading Private London - James Patterson.
Has just finished Private London - James Patterson. In morning I will read There's Something About Christmas - Debbie Macomber.
I'm reading The Mist by Stephen King for the second half of 30.3 (Simple Swaps) and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead for 25.3a, and then plan to go with the second book in the series, Frostbite for 25.3b, if all goes well. I hope it does.
I am still reading The Eight (10.4). I am really enjoying this big book and will finish it in the next week. Next big book to tackle will be Jane Eyre (10.9).Finished the book for 25.7b and started When Red Is Black for 15.4a. Expect to finish tomorrow.
Reading has been slow-going for me the past few days for some reason. Finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for 30.5 (Christmas carolling) and am just starting in earnest on Sabriel (5.7) and The Monstrumologist (5.1).The Game of Kings (30.2) is on hold - it is seriously difficult to plow through. I may have to pick a different author for 'One Author - Two Series'.
I'm currently working on The Night Circus (10.4), Anna Dressed in Blood (15.2), and The Three Musketeers (30.4B).I'm really enjoying Anna- the author is quite amusing.
Since I haven't been feeling well, I haven't been reading as much as normal. Still working on The Name of the Rose, also reading King Solomon's Mines for 10.5.
