Finally finished Stephen King's 'IT' so I can move on to another task and start reading Infidel which just came to me through bookcrossing!

I'm still listening to The 19th Wife. It's really interesting. Two parallel stories, one from the late 1800s and one in present time, both featuring a 19th wife.
Yesterday, I finished reading The Wives of Henry Oades, which I didn't really like. Too choppy, reactions were unbelievable, too many unneeded details (such as using chamber pots...a lot....and finding them in used condition) and not enough needed details.
This morning I started reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. Too early yet to say much about it but it's interesting.

Finished up Speak yesterday. Still working on Flowers from the Storm. And started reading The Archer for the Coin Toss (500+ pages). Also slowly reading The Tao of Pooh for new horizons (philosophy/spirituality)

I've got two going right now. The Raven in the Foregate: The Twelfth Chronicle of Brother Cadfael for 10.5 and Wuthering Heights for 15.6.

I just am about to start Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for 30.7b and need to finish Dracula for 30.7a (about 1/2 way through and gave up for awhile to do some group reads) and also still reading Nevermore for 15.6

Meghan, I'm reading it for Task 10.3 (Freedom!). It was approved in the Task thread for "crusade to end polygamy in the United States".
It's very good. There are so many different angles to the story: memoirs, diaries, wikipedia, the present-day story of the 19th wife (as told by her son). I'm really enjoying it.

Enjoy The Crucible, Dee. It's quite powerful. It must have been scary living in Salem during those times.

I have the same problem.....6 of my Library Requests (some have been on request since the beginning of this Challenge) all came in together a couple days ago....and I'm in the middle of another book already!!

Seems like I'll never finish Shark Dialoguesalmost halfway through it. It sounded really interesting when I was looking for a book based in Hawaii, its not bad but I just can't get into it. Listening to The Time Traveler's Wife and LOVING IT! I wish I would have read it instead of listen cuz I'm sure I would have devoured it by now, but I get only an hour each day during my commute to and from work. I've never really listed to a book before and am enjoying getting some "reading time" done on my drive to and from work :)

I'm reading Stephen King's Wizard and Glass. I'm trying to fit several of the Dark Tower books into this season's challenge because my fiance and I made a deal that he would read the Harry Potter series if I would read the Dark Tower series. We set our wedding day as the deadline for finishing the books. He finished all of the Harry Potter books months ago, so I need to get with the program! I still have 3 and a half books to finish before January (which is fine, but I have to work them in between other things I want to read. :-))
I had never read many Stephen King books, but this series has grown on me.

I started Linger for Lisa's task. Has anyone else come across books with colored text? Linger is set in green Garamond. It is a little hard to read- especially outside in the sun. Earlier this challenge I read another book with purple text- but that was an art book and I thought it was part of the presentation.

I'm reading Doctor Zhivago for Task 20.2, Option C (Book with the same setting as a Musical). My chosen musical is Fiddler On The Roof, which is set in Revolutionary Russia.
This morning I started listening to The Magician's Nephew for Task 15.1 (New Horizons). It's on the Christianity shelf, which is outside my comfort zone. So far, this is a fun story.

I've got to decide which task to assign Northanger Abbey to. It fits into 4 tasks and I can't post any finished tasks until I decide about it first. It's a cascading effect.

I'm not as fast a reader as some/most of the group members so now my strategy I was on is moot because if I continue on my current path that is all I'm going to be able to read for the fall challenge. So I wanted to ask ya'll which book do you recommend me reading next. You can either reply or send me a message. Also the following books I tagged to listen to in the car which one should I get first? Jane Eyre

I enjoyed Jane Eyre (its one of the few classics that I did, but its long) - could never get into the shopaholic series...sorry, can't be much more help!

Of those, the only one I've read is Jane Eyre. Like Dee, I enjoyed it.

You should read Of Mice and Men...one of my all time favorites. I saw it as unread on your list.

Of your list above I would say...Beloved and let me know what you think. I really want to read this book.

"Beloved" is a haunting and beautifully written book. It's definitely in my top 20 list.

Ok I checked out Jane Eyre on tape to listen to in traffic. So I started that on the way home from the library. I still have 119 pages left of Playa Perdida and still enjoying it. My goal was to have it finished by tomorrow, but I didn't get much reading time yesterday or today so hopefully I can still meet that goal. Thank you to all that gave me suggestions I really appreciate it! Kelly, I'll check out Beloved audio book next! :)
