Blue | 825 comments My friend and I were talking and remembered a book that was originally written in Russian but published in English. At least I think it was Russian might have been Finland.

This it was released in the 70s maybe 80s.

All I could remember is that Earth was doing space explorations and I think the setting was the year 2000-2020.

There was a two manned ship and it got lost in space and I think it crashed and the planet they landed on was very technologically advanced and kind of utopic.

I am pretty sure I read it as a leather bound book so unfortunately no cover to speak of.

Blue | 825 comments My friend thinks the book was not a utopia but a dystopia and that the military on the planet shot the ship down.

If either of these ring a bell to anyone we would be grateful of the help google did not get me far.

That is not the right book. Very similar premise though. Thanks for trying.

Blue | 825 comments I remembered something else.

The pilot who survived is taken by the leader of the place and is made to sound like he is a God and being forced to marry the leader's daughter.
