Maxon has been so unknown about the struggles for the lower scales but the action he takes are so good.

No history books? I had said before I think they are covering up something and they probably did something to tick off the Rebels so maybe the history books tell what Illea did but they are trying to cover it up by not having history books.(My opinion)

Also, I think Anna was sweet, I hate that she got out she seemed nice.

I love America's maids, awww Lucy is so sweet and so is Anne and Mary!! They are so sweet to America and awww.

AHHHHHH!!! They Kissed, awww it was soooo sweet! I can't believe that he had his first kiss with America and he was apologizing because he thought he made a mistake, oh my gosh so sweet. AWW!

Also, he is kissing others? I mean I know it is part of the thing but just America. I hope they are lying although I mean he is allowed to kiss others just...ugh

I am worried about Marlee. I hope we find out why she is mad or upset. She is always so positive I hope if it is about America they work it out, I really like their friendship.

I knew some twist was going to happen with Aspen but America really needs to tell Maxon about it although she might still love Aspen, him watching over her while she sleeps would not be good.

Yes, I feel that they will find out the reason because something leads me to believe Maxon doesn't know either because if he did I think he would definitely be disappointed in his country he is supposed to rule if it is that bad they have to cover it up. I don't know what Illea did and they might not have done anything but it is fishy that there is no history books available and that the Rebels just attack apparently out of anger.

Also, I love that America really stood up for her maids and Lucy, gosh I did not want Lucy serving others and be trembling every step she took.

I am upset that he is siding with Celeste but I mean she is just good at acting really nice to him and he is pressured to continue with certain girls.

I hate that America is keeping secrets from Maxon about Aspen because he would be very hurt but if she told him she would be out and I want them together but I wish she didn't lie in the first place. First quarter - (view spoiler)[There is something to be said for how easily immersible this series is. I really dislike romantic fantasies but this one is exactly that and I just love it! I don't believe in the concept of guilty pleasure reads as no-one should feel guilty for what they like, but this definitely a book outside of my usual reading choices.

Aspen isn't my favourite but I could understand his decision not to want America to suffer by lowering her caste number to his. It also made it initially easier for America to progress to the palace without him.

It was obvious that America was going to be one of the chosen few, as she is the protagonist, so I'm glad we were introduced to the world and the announcement made pretty quickly. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[It was interesting to see life in the palace as well as life as a new reality star. The girls were given their own distinct characters and I'm glad they weren't all the stereotypical mean girls, like Celeste.

America meeting her fans at the airport made others jealous of her but that she was acting genuinely and not for the cameras was the first sign that she would be a great queen, despite it not being what she desired.

Fourth quarter - (view spoiler)[This book is just so FUN. America is a great protagonist as the world she enters into is new to both her and the reader alike. I also had forgotten how great the side characters are. The rebels don't really take up much focus but were in the plot enough for me to believe they make more of an appearance, later in the series. 0%: I'm so excited to start reading The Selection series! It's my third favorite series after the Lunar Chronicles series and the Red Queen series. This will be a second-time read, and I think the last time I read this was about 5 years ago. I know I was in the eighth grade. So, so excited!

Chapter 10: (view spoiler)[ From that start we were informed that the prince is married off to a common girl to mend the bridge between the lower classes and the royal palace. Yet, America, confronts Maxon and asks if he is incapable of love because he keeps women in his castle (or as she refers to it as Prison). Sometimes I feel the writing is very sporadic and not always on a linear framework. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11: (view spoiler)[ I totally understand why America stands out, and I love it. It is not because she is overtly beautiful, or because she goes above and beyond but she is just a wholesome lovely person, and her simple and plain taste take her leaps and bounds above the rest.
