What would happen if we lived in an alternate world in which Puerto Rico wasn’t discovered by Christopher Columbus, but rather someone or something else?

I personally would have liked to be discovered by the Chinese. We'd be living today in a Metropolis, the downfall would be 15 people living in a three bedroom apartment. I also think about a world in which Albert Einstein, never discovered E = mc2, no modern warfare.
