Sarah Raff | 14 comments Hello! I'm Sarah, 21, college senior. I'm trying to bring back reading-for- fun into my life after way too long. I've set a few challenges for myself recently. At the beginning of this academic year I challenged myself to read 25 books before graduation, and no rereads (I'm on book 15). I have also set my 2015 reading goal to 50 books. I don't know if I'm going to make these goals, I've been super swamped with course work, but I'm trying and I'd love a community to do it with.

Zeus grants stupid wishes is a really fun read- it just ridicules Greek mythology and makes you think about major plot holes you never thought about and a really easy quick read.
The Invisible Library, The Quick and The Night Circus all got me out of my reading slump when I was just studying and I had not read-for-fun in ages and I felt I had fallen out of love with reading.
Hope this helps!

BJ Williams Hello everyone! I'm BJ, 34 years young, married with 3 cats :D . I have a lifetime love of reading and I enjoy watching Kristina's youtube channel. This year, I am undertaking the 2015 popsugar reading challenge, with my own tweaks. I have a blog on wordpress at https://beatleguise.wordpress.com/ if anyone is interested in what I'm doing. All my challenge books will be under the category Saturday Scrolls which can be accessed by hitting the right side button. Look forward to making friends on here. Happy Reading everyone!

message 58: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (megra12throughthebookshelf) | 1 comments Hello everyone! I'm Meaghan, and I have never really been in a bookclub before, at least not one where I actually managed to interact. So this should be fun, and we should see how I succeed! Super Excited :)

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi everyone! My name is Molly, I am 23 years old, I'm married and live in Southern California. I spend ALL of my free time (which there is a lot of) reading :) I like mainly young adult, but venture out to fantasy, sci-fi and some adult literature every now and then. I am excited to be in another book club! Hopefully we can become friends!

my instagram is: https://www.instagram.com/molly.reads/

Abby (abcadab) | 36 comments totally off topic, but does anyone have any good scary books for young adults? If so please let me know!

message 62: by Kelly (last edited May 04, 2015 05:46PM) (new)

Kelly Hi! My name is Kelly and I am going to be 26 years old at the end of this month. I work in a public library as the Teen Services Librarian. I run my library's teen book club, but I wanted to join Kristina's book club for the extra challenge and inspiration. I mostly read young adult with a spattering of graphic novels.

I recommend anything by Daniel Kraus, Engines of the Broken World by Jason Vanhee, and Long Larkin by Lindsey Barraclough. I have to warn you, horror isn't my thing so I haven't read these, but it is what I recommend to my teen patrons.

message 65: by Trini (new)

Trini | 14 comments Hello to everyone! I'm Trini and I read books all the time. I haven't read with other people much, though, so I figured I'd join Kristina's group and see how it goes. I generally read middle grade/YA adventure or fantasy novels. I'm excited to see how this works out for me!

message 66: by Mary Kathryn (new)

Mary Kathryn | 2 comments Hey y'all! I'm Mary Kathryn, 22, recent college grad (yay!). I'm usually a solitary reader, but I'm really excited to get into a community and chat about our love of books! I'll read pretty much anything YA...if it's a solid recommendation, I'll try it :) It's hard to find friends willing to read the same book as me, and who have enough free time to do in the same time frame...so I'm psyched to find a group of different people from all over that want to read and discuss the same stuff!

message 67: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (studyingmagicbynight) | 2 comments Hello everyone!!
My name is Lisa and I'm turning 24 in two weeks! I just graduated with a BS in Anthropology and now I'm saving and preparing to start my Masters in Library Science. Now that I'm done with school and have a bit more free time I think I'm ready to join a book club! I've never been part of one before so this should be interesting. I've also been in a bit of a reading slump since January so I'm hoping this will help :) I'm so excited!

message 68: by Becka (new)

Becka Ramaglia | 20 comments Hello everyone,
I just realized I too forgot to introduce myself.
I'm a certified teacher who lives in NY and am having trouble finding a full time job (hoping this fall I land one). My husband served in the Marines for 12 years and our daughter who's 4 was born in Okinawa, Japan.
I love reading fantasy and chic-lit are at the top of my list but I gravitate to YA. My favorite author is Tolkien and Katherine Kerr with her Deverry Series.
I am also trying my hand at a massive writing project that has been whirling around my head for exactly a year this month. I participate in NaNo and am as of last year my region's ML.
Oh and I'm 32 going on 25 every year from now on.

message 69: by Isobel (new)

Isobel Andrews (zasobel) | 2 comments Omg I just realised I totally forgot to introduce myself and I've just been lurking for about 2 months. Whoops. I'm an 18-yr-old media student from Sydney. I fell out of love with reading over my last few years of high school and this year I'm trying to reclaim it into my life. I'm not a fast reader, especially because I'm so out of practice, but I'm really enjoying rediscovering my love for books.
Yay! :)

message 70: by Anne (new)

Anne | 3 comments Hi, I'm Anne, 23 years old and from the Netherlands. At the moment I am studying in England, but I am moving back home soon for my final year of uni. I have been in this bookclub for a while now without being active, but hopefully I will have some more time to read and discuss the books I read during the summer!

message 71: by Bobbyjessica (new)

Bobbyjessica Skirvin | 1 comments So im trying to be more social, and i remember in school i use to be a member of a book club. I enjoy reading books and would like to give the whole discussing them thing a try. Dunno when im going to get a job to buy said books, even if its just there ebook form. I unfortunately owe the library in town money due to a mistake....book drops ugh.

message 72: by Jessica (last edited Jun 09, 2015 02:44PM) (new)

Jessica (frayedends) | 1 comments I am starting over with goodreads all because of this book club. I read way to much and plan on trying to read all 4 of these books (stardust will be a re-read though) and any of the 22 books i constantly have on hold at the library that come through. I own two of these ( Stardust and TCA- which like many I couldn't get though the first time around) and the other two come from the library which helps. I look forward to discussing and learning about new books with you all.

Renaru | 1 comments Hi! I'm Renaru, 22 years old from Singapore. Currently a preschool teacher. I've just got back into reading like last month? When I picked up The selection series. So here I am, joining a book club even though I've never joined one before this like a few years on GoodReads. Mostly I would read Fantasy books and Dystopian as of now. Hopefully I'll be able to make some friends around here ^^

Carly | 29 comments So are we going to choose fall books to discuss? I'm probably being impatient because it's only Sept 10th...I'm just really excited about the next crop of books.

I was thinking about that too, Carly! I just didn't know where to ask.

message 77: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisar87) Hello everyone! I'm a 28-year-old history and anthropology student from California. I work as a student assistant learning CRM work and historical archaeology procedures. I'm a huge history nerd. One of my favorite things to do is hiking, especially in the Sierra Nevadas. I'm in between transferring from a Community College into a University and have a little spare time, so I've decided to finally get back around to recreational reading. I've kind of jumped in with both feet and am really excited about it. I'm looking forward to this book group and meeting some new people!

message 78: by Kylie (new)

Kylie Leblanc (kylieanne88) | 5 comments Hey everyone! My name is Kylie! I've been big into reading ever since I was a kid. I love reading all sorts of genres. I enjoy discussion and love having people to talk to who are just as into reading as I am. I look forward to getting to know some of you and enjoying this group!
