Delanie | 40 comments I would have read this in the last 2-3 years, but not sure on publication. One of the characters is an older eccentric lady obsessed with England and the monarchy who insists on driving her electric jalopy around town and is spectacularly bad at it. There is a ghost in the kitchen who the other two characters--adolescent? Boy and girl--soothe or take so she will bake treats for them. There is a hucksters seance with a mean magician and a girl he uses for the poltergeist in his seance show. Sylvia, maybe, but I could be very wrong on the name.

Delanie, what's the location (country/region/city/small town)?

What's the tone - e.g., mystery, cozy mystery, thriller, romance, funny, sad/somber, etc.? For teens (young adults) or older adults?

Delanie is still looking and wrote:

"I read this book a few years ago. There is a girl who is working with a sleazy fake magician who becomes friends with a boy from town, and a spinster who drives her automobile like an absolute maniac. There is a ghost in her kitchen and there may have been a murder (resulting in the ghost)."
