So in short (view spoiler)[ after dragging it out that time travel was bogus he then blinded the reader with science that it actually did happen (or did it?) and confused the bejesus out of everyone, or was that just me, LOL. Thinking about the implications of time travel gives me a headache. (hide spoiler)]

Thanks for the discussion everyone. I wonder how many will continue on with the trilogy. Not sure I will, but maybe at a later date. The final part is being published in English in June 2015.

I think audio would have been extra hard for this book. I found myself skimming some of the longer tangents in part 1 and I probably would have lost the thread completely if I was listening.

I'm up to about page 160 and am finding it a difficult book to get into and stay interested in. Has anybody else had the same problem?

OK. When does the second part start? My copy of the book just has chapters and no parts specified.

Looks like Chapter 18 is the start of Part 2. I don't know more than that since I've already returned the book. There's 3 parts total and they have some overlap but the main character is different for each part.

It's a very unevenly paced book. But it does have a wow of a finish if you can get through the slower other parts. They all do intersect by the end.

I've started this book earlier yesterday and found it to be kind of slow in the beginning that I needed to read something else with more pep in it. :)I hope it picks up soon.

Welcome to the club :) You have to push through til part 2. I think every single person has posted some variant on that so far. It's evidently a very apparent issue.

I agree Kelly with your comment about wondering. I found myself wondering even at its end. This was not a book I enjoyed that much.

I think it's a case of when an author gets a bit too much into their own world and doesn't let the reader see enough of it.

I read a 200 mistakes made when writing a novel book and one of them was trying to be too literary which I think a lot of books seem to suffer from. They all want to be next on Oprah's book list.

Part one (view spoiler)[...a hoax the entire time....seriously!!! I too believed it, and was sad that is was not real at all! I can't believe how much I wanted to think it was really happening. I did think it a little odd that Wells gave in so easily, and that his wife played the part just as much.
The good thing was that it made the boy get over Marie's death and finally live his own life. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished yesterday....I give it about 3.5 stars.

I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. But it was interesting, and it kept me reading. Although I figured out the end as soon as I starting reading that plot in part three.

Part Two (view spoiler)[…another hoax...two in a row, nit what I thought this book was about. I did like the concept once again. Although I can't believe how much trouble Tom went through to get her to believe the story.
And Mr. Wells...I am also surprised he went along with it.
Tom, who knew the 2000 thing was all a sham, I can't believe would actually go to a fortune teller and believe what she told him...You going to die.....well all of us die eventually.

I don't know if anyone is still reading this but I'm still trying to get past this book. I've currently finished chapter 11 (view spoiler)[my last post I left off when Andrew's cousin to him to see someone about time travel. Well he is introduced to Gideum and his story about seeing a place which was discovered and there were Reed people. He goes on to explain abut the discovery but that still doesn't help with the matter that Andrew just wants to go back in time so that he can save or see his the woman he loves. I'm not sure what he thinks will change since she will still be married and be a prostitute too. (hide spoiler)]
