[Olivia]

Lani slipped through the forest, her paws making no sound on the soft soil. She paused to scent the air and her face tightend in a wolf-frown. Something else was with her in the forest, obviously trying its best to be silent. Lani could see it now, glidding behind the pines. She tensed. Whatever it was, she was ready.

[Olivia]

Lani blinked and took a step back in surprise. What had come from the trees was another wolf, and by the look of her, she was no threat. The other wolf, a black female, didn't seem to be defending her territory, nor did she have any pack with her. How strange, Lani thought. She had been dreading a fight.

[Olivia]

"Hello," Lani said, pricking her ears and trying her best to look friendly. "I'm Lani. Are you with a pack?"

[Olivia]

"Neither am I," Lani said. "Would you like to travel together, at least for the time being?" The wolf didn't seem dangerous, and there was safety in numbers. "By the way, what's your name?"

[Olivia]

Lani slipped between the trees and shot another glance at the wolf beside her. Not for the first time, she wondered where Kirjava had come from. Traveling without a pack was strange, and now, with winter coming on, even stranger. She decided to push it. "So where are you from?" Lani asked, trying to sound casual.

[Dead.....because I killed it!]

Kaiya troughts through the woods at a slow pace not sure of where to go. Then she comes across two other wolfs and stops abruptly. She just pauses and waits to see what happens.

[Anne]

Lightning had been looking for a pack for a long time. When she finally smelled some wolves, hope rose in her chest and she tracked them. Seeing the wolves talking, she decided to wait and hoped they would not see her.

[Olivia]

Lani whirled around, trying to see what had startled Kirjava. "Huh? Another wolf?" she yipped, half nervously. "Who are you?"

OOC: I'm talking about Kaiya. I don't think anyone has noticed Lightning yet. ^^

[Anne]

Lightning stayed in the shadows.

Lightning pricked her ears. She had heard something. She started to follow the sound. Picking up a scent, she started to track it.

[Anne]

((Yes))

Lightning watched as Jet hunted, feeling a slight twinge of admiration for his skills.

[Anne]

Lightning eyed the meat. She wasn't hungry, and besides, she felt suspicious that the wolf should set those pieces of meat aside as if he knew she was there.

[Anne]

As luck would have it, Lightning was distracted by a butterfly flitting past her nose. Forgetting all about Jet, she chased after it.

[Quackyduck]

Kameko sniffed the air, unaware of where her pack was. She howled sadly, knowing she must be off territory.

[Anne]

Lightning let out a growl. "This is my pack's territory! You're the one who's intruding!!"

[Quackyduck]

Kameko heard the threatening growl, and ran towards it with exitement.

[Anne]

Lightning saw Kameko. Thinking that she was part of her pack, she told her, "Help me drive this intruder out."

[Quackyduck]

Kameko nodded, growling at the intruder.

[Anne]

Lightning added her growl to Kameko's, forcing Jet back.

[Quackyduck]

(Lol, where is Jet btw?)

[Anne]

OOC: (means Out Of Character) Mmkay, I'm changing To's name, because having a preposition for a nickname is just too confusing. She is now...Lani!

Lani gasped. "Did you hear that?" she hissed at Kirjava. "It sounds like someone's fighting! We'll get to know each other later; let's go see what it's about." She bounded off across the snow, not stopping to see if Kirjava and Kaiya were following.

[Anne]

Lightning snarled at Jet. "Go away!"

[Quackyduck]

"Yes! Get out!" She agreed.

[Anne]

((Let's just pretend we already drove him out))

[Anne]

Lightning flicked her ears. "That should do the trick."

[Quackyduck]

She smirked. "Yeah...so who are you?"

[Anne]

Lightning laughed. "Sorry, I'm Lightning. You?"

[Quackyduck]

"Kameko." She said with a slight bow.

[Anne]

"Hi, Kameko," Lightning said, holding back a snort of amusement.

[Quackyduck]

(I'm sorry! D:)

[Anne]

((He could come back and get revenge, or he could join the pack))

((Okay, I really need to go yell at Roxii and Dead... to come and actually play their characters...))

Lani skidded to a halt, nose-to-nose with Lightning. "Whoa, sorry," she gasped, backpedalling a little to get out of the other wolf's bubble. "Um...who are you? I'm Lani, and this is Kirjava and--well, I'm not really sure. Are we in your territory?"

[Anne]

"Well, this is my pack's territory...I'm not sure where they are...I'm Lightning. You're welcome here, Lani...just not that black wolf."

[Olivia]

((Roxii doesn't want to play her character anymore, so just forget about Kirjava. *sob*))

"We can stay with you?" Lani asked. She was surprised that a wolf she had just met would be so hospitable. Of course, she probably couldn't speak for her entire pack. "Thanks! That would be great. I know I don't have a pack, and I don't think that..." She turned to the grey wolf beside her. "What was your name again?"

Dark walked out to hunt

[Anne]

Lightning smiled happily. "We can make a pack! I'm beta," she said cheerfully.

[Olivia]

"Excellent!" Lani said cheerfully. "You guys are exactly who I've been looking for: wolves who would be willing to create a pack. So, who's in?"

[Anne]

"Me! I call beta!" Lightning grinned.

[Laika]

Borealis sniffed the air.

[Olivia]

((Now would be a good time to work out ranks, so you can keep the original rank on your character description, or you can change it to something else.))
((Where are you right now, Borealis? Have you met the other wolves yet?))

Lani looked around at the semicircle of wolves. "All right, Lightning," she said, "You're beta. Who's going to be alpha?"

[Laika]

((haven't met anyone else yet. I'd like to be the alpha female, if it's available. Could you make your wolves see her and meet her?))


Borealis stood up, her silver fur shimmering like the full moon right after a blizzard.

[Laika]

Hearing and scenting the wolves, the leapt into the circle and puffed out her chest. "I shall be alpha." She growled in a deep, proud voice. Her razor teeth glistened for a moment as she said this, and her talons kneaded the ground in anticipation.

[Olivia]

((Nice writing, Shadowcat! XD And yes, alpha female is available. We haven't got a male yet, though.))

Lani took a half-step backwards in surprise. "Um, hi," she said. "I guess you're alpha, then. Shall we just let the other ranks sort of . . . fall into place?" She glanced nervously around at the others, awaiting consent, wondering if it was no longer her place to be giving orders.
