I quite enjoyed this take on Vampires. It draws on established vampire lore, with just enough difference to make it fun. The guys are hot, the plot is (mostly) fast-paced, and the romance is slow-burn. I'm looking forward to the next in the series!

Love, love, LOVED this book! Contemporary romance isn’t my usual thing, but amazingly well written books like this one that just suck you right in from the first paragraph, make me want to make it my thing. This story had me aching for the characters, had me laughing hard enough to make my housemates wonder if I was ok, and had steam pouring out of my tablet. It also pissed me clean off and made me lose some sleep. All signs of an excellent book.
Now that I’ve finished this one, I need to go and read the next one in the series. Poor Logan needs an HEA ASAP.

I'm not quite sure what to say about this one. It was dark, but I was still expecting more from the ending. I always want a look at the future in my romance books, dark or not. I want to see that they are happy and doing well. I understand that there were constraints because there's a spin-off book coming, but it's already overdue!
So, it's dark, they run from the bad guys, things happen to them, and they do stuff, but mostly it's just a super-steamy read. :)

(Tagged once as an Auto Buy)
This is perfect since I actually did buy this one automatically while reading the first book in the series.

Finally, on page 28 of the tags, I found 1 person has tagged Sapphire Flames Auto Buy. Before that I found AutoBuy, Auto Book, Auto Buy Author, Author Auto Buy, Wishlist Author Auto Buy, Auto Buy Series, and probably a few others I'm forgetting!

Wow! I love Catalina almost as much as I love Nevada. And Alessandro Sagredo comes a VERY close second to Rogan. This book doesn't have quite as much of the family dynamic as the Nevada books, which I missed. But it was nice to see them maturing a bit and coming into their own as Primes and as a House. I nearly shed a tear at the end, and I can't wait for the next one!

About a Dragon
I find it to be so amazing when a book can drag you in completely and make you feel like you’re actually there, and this book does exactly that. I thoroughly enjoyed all the arguing and snark between the dragon siblings and between Briec and Talaith. The fighting parts were so well written I had no issue “seeing” Annwyl taking heads left and right. A few things I am looking forward to seeing is whether Éibhear and Izzy end up together and if Brastias and Morfyd ever get a chance to finish what they started. Also what fresh hell is coming their way.
I am absolutely loving this series and look forward to book 3.

Finally finished this book last night and admittedly the last 1/3rd of the book was a lot better than the rest. I listened to this as opposed to reading, my preferred format, and I do feel that a lot of the detail was lost in the audio version. I did enjoy the humour and the interaction between Gideon and the key players but not enough to continue with the series. Although should I re-Read the kindle edition I may reconsider.

Have we converted you?

I am loving this series! There is a great blend of action/angst/romance that is really working for me. The vampires are all tortured heroes that just need the love of a good woman. And I love reading about them finding those women!

It might take me a day or two to coordinate this with my other challenges. Does anyone mind if I do the alternate task option for this shelf? If someone else needs it, I'll find something. :)

I’m ok with that

I'm really torn about how I feel about this book. Let me start by saying I'll probably give the series another chance, because we are introduced to the MC of the next book, whom I liked. But the MCs of this book. Not quite so much liking going on.
To start with the Mates trope can be done with the insta-love trope, but it wasn't done very well here. And there was a lot of sex in the book. And some of it was of dubious consent. I love a good Alpha male, but Talen was too over the top for me. That being said, his moments as daddy to Janie were sweet, and other reviews indicate that there is more of that in the future books. I'm looking forward to those!
So, to sum up, the series insta-love wasn't there for me, but I'm willing to see where this takes me. :)

Second Grave on the Left
Oh man... this just keeps getting better and better!! Like the first book, the action just doesn’t know how to stop and neither does the snark. I was literally laughing out loud at some parts. But now that this part is done, I have so many questions that need answers! Mainly what happens next? Who the heck is Mistress Marigold, and how the heck does she know the things she knows???
Like I said... better and better.

This is the first novel I’ve read by this author and what an introduction. Penelope is a spinster whose scandal of a broken engagement has kept her off the marriage mart until her father attaches a sought after property to her dowry. The property was once her childhood friend’s inheritance which he lost in a game of cards. He returns to not only seek revenge on the one person who took his inheritance and will do whatever it takes to reclaim what is rightfully his.
What begins as a business marriage evolves into them learning to love and overcome many problems. A good start to the series which I will continue

Thanks Laura! Sorry for the missing shelf call ladies! It’s been a long day.

I’ve nearly caught up with this series and it just keeps getting better. I love that each novel focuses on the ups and downs of one couple as they come to terms with their bond. We also get to glimpse side stories which pave the way for further stories. Already downloaded the next one.
