Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments what about the son of satan part?

message 102: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments The mods are discussing that, we'll get back to you on that.

message 103: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Sorry, Mary for the late answer! The mods went dancing last night !

Charley is good for Charlie, they're pronounced the same.
As for the plot, having Satan's son in the story isn't enough. If you can come up with a plot that connects the book to the lyrics, you'll get points for the plot.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments Mods...I better check this just in case.

For the Charlie Daniels song...I'm looking at Gunmetal Magic. My question is regarding the plot. The song says: "Hell's broke loose in Georgia." When magic descends on Atlanta, all sorts of dangerous creatures gain power in the streets. Will this work? Or do you need more?

message 111: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Michaels works for Michael.

Nicholas only if he is called Nick (at least once in the book).

Nicholas is author, so that's out.
Thanks

Sorry, gone all day Becky. I put it on our list of questions for the Mods to discuss.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments Thanks, DQ! No rush!

message 119: by Anjali (new)

Anjali (anjali6678) | 112 comments hello sir,
Can we take names of band members rather than the name of the band?

Poison & Wine" - Civil Wars (2009)
Civil Wars members names
Joy Elizabeth Williams
John Paul White

message 120: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Not quite sure I understand your question, Anjali. However, for Name = 5 points, Joy, Williams, John, Paul, or White are all fine for ♬ "Poison & Wine."

message 121: by Anjali (new)

Anjali (anjali6678) | 112 comments Thank you, you answered what I wanted to know ,sorry I can not formulate proper question .

message 122: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments That's fine, Anjali. As long as we answered you. ☺

Becky, which song are you talking? (Just being double sure.)

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments It's also the Civil Wars, using John Paul White. I have a book with an author Johnson and wonder if that would be allowed for singer John. I have a backup book if it won't, but I wanted to double check.

message 125: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Sorry, Becky, "Johnson" will not work.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments Okay. Thanks for checking! I have a backup book!

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Um, question? When should we expect the Week 3 song up? I just checked the Now Playing thread, and the song still isn't up. I'm only asking because that thread stated that the songs would be up on Sunday mornings and it seems to be going up on Sunday afternoons instead.

Sorry, Trea, this week's DJ is in a different time zone. So, 7:00 a.m. for them is afternoon in U.S.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments So what are we going for as far as plot here? Just road trip or bikers? Would a book set in Wyoming about a sheriff count for setting and plot?

or what about a wedding?

message 133: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments A hint : Read the lyrics , it gives you some ideas for the plot!

What's the book you have in mind , Mary ?

message 135: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Hell Is Empty (Walt Longmire, #7) by Craig Johnson

I put this cover up because it has mountains, a scenic roads and trees kind of like the scenic route in the video if the plot doesn't work.

plot: Walt tracks transports some convicts and then tracks them when they escape. Sort of like a road trip.

message 136: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments To me it looks a like river not a road but the mods will discuss it and we'll get back to you .

message 137: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Oh yeah I guess it does a bit. I honestly thought it was a road.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments I'm reading that one now Mary. They are in the mountains in Wyoming, tracking escaped convicts through a snowstorm...does that help?

message 139: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Sorry ,Marry , that book counts only for the setting .

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) For this week's song, since you only have "bonus album/cover" listed and not "name", does that mean we do not get to consider the author/character names this time?

And what exactly do we use for album title/cover? If the singer's name is on the album cover, do I then get to consider an author/character that shares his name (assuming "name" is not a choice this time)?

I assume since this week's cover is black surrounding a man's face close-up, a black cover would work? Maybe with a face, as well?

Here... let me just ask if either of these works for this round, haha:
1st to Die (Women's Murder Club, #1) by James Patterson - by James Patterson (black cover to go with album cover? or author's name if we can use name?)

The Private School Murders (Confessions, #2) by James Patterson by James Patterson
(Black cover to go with album cover? Or author's name to go with either singer's name or name of singer on album cover? /setting: published 2013. I know it works for setting, it's the others I'm unsure of)

Thanks!

message 141: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments This week didn't provide the cheat sheet . You have to come up with cover ,names, title and plot connections on your own.

I'll refer you to the Rules , I think they will answer your questions. Let me know if they don't .

10. Bonus Album Title or Item Points:
(1 point per player)
Instead of an occasional “bonus word,” some weeks (4 total), we will include an album cover connection. To earn an extra individual point for that week, find something on the album cover that connects with your book. It could be a word, or an item on the album cover and the bookcover. If it is a word, post the page number/ ebook location along with the quote, at the bottom of your review. If it is an item, be sure to explain.

message 142: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments I also edited the song post .

message 143: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Here is the points for your books , Teresa :

The Private School Murders (Confessions, #2) by James Patterson counts for the name and setting and bonus point (black cover with a face on it ).

1st to Die (Women's Murder Club, #1) by James Patterson just the name

message 144: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments So can the title have Bonfire or Hearts or does it have to have both?

message 145: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments Mary: paperbackswap refuge wrote: "So can the title have Bonfire or Hearts or does it have to have both?"

Both or one will get you the points for title .

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) Okay, gotcha, thanks! I forgot to re-read the rules for that bonus album cover thing. My browser keeps freezing up and it's irritating, grr.

message 147: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 337 comments So if I'm reading the bonus right if I find the word moon in the book I can get an extra point?

message 148: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments The ways you can get the bonus point :

1- Picture of moon on cover
2- The word "moon" on the cover
3- A black cover and a face
4- Somewhere in the book there is scene like : "it was dark the only thing she could see was his face "
5- words "moon landing" in the text of book

Buried in a Bog (County Cork, #1) by Sheila Connolly
