The problem was that my formula didn't extend to the bottom of the page lol. I've fixed it now!

Kathy E | 3332 comments Finished The White Cottage Mystery and added to spreadsheet as fitting Girl Scouts - badge Detective

I was going to start Miracle Creek but I just picked up my copy of The Testaments from the library. I also am tempted to re-read The Handmaid's Tale first.

Decisions!

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments Hello all!
Looks like we're making good progress!
Go, cookies!

message 106: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3332 comments Finished Peter Pan and added to spreadsheet. Hmm - what to read next...

message 107: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I finished Three Women and will update spreadsheet in the morning.

Laura, I’m tempted to re-read The Handmaid’s Tale prior to reading The Testaments as well...

message 108: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1147 comments Finished The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World 266 pages. This fits several places, but I would recommend the Boy Scouts Financial Literacy which includes Philanthropist. It is also could go under Innovation which is also under Entrepreneurship.

Thanks Kathy for moving your book out of journalism. I have less than 100 pages to go... and journalism remains the bet fit of the badges available.

message 110: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments I finally (finally!) finished The Golden Compass. I will add it to the spreadsheet.

Thanks Emily for your super spreadsheet abilities!

So glad everyone is making progress!

I’ve just gotten home from a football game, so I’m heading to sleep but I will check out the spreadsheet in the morning!

message 112: by Edie (last edited Sep 14, 2019 08:45AM) (new)

Edie | 1147 comments Finished One Hundred Names which I slotted in Journalism under the Boy Scout Badges. Thanks to Kathy for being flexible.

message 113: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1147 comments On second thought I have moved One Hundred Names to "Making Friends " under the Girl Scout badges where we need books. Lots of friends were made in this book, so it fits. I then can use Journalism for Slouching Toward Bethlehem which I started before the challenge, but have enough pages left to go for it to count and I should be able to finish it today or tomorrow.

message 114: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3332 comments I loved Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Edie. Enjoy!

There's no way I'll finish The Goldfinch by tomorrow. The writing is dense and I want to read every word, or at least every sentence!

So I'm switching to an audio of What We Lose by Zinzi Clemmons. Also reading Invitation to the Waltz by Rosamund Lehman.

Fingers crossed that I can finish.

message 115: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I updated the spreadsheet with communication for Three Women since Eadie has something for Journalism.

Emily, can you please doublecheck the spreadsheet when you have a chance to be sure I did it correctly? ;)

message 116: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3332 comments Hi all,
On the spreadsheet there is a tab for Read-a-Thon Completions. I've updated it with Edie's, Rachelnyc's and my finished books. (Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes)

Finished Wind, Sand and Stars and added it to the spreadsheet. Not sure that I'll finish anything else this week.

The spreadsheet looks great. Thanks for keeping it up, everyone.

We are only 5 books short of getting the fourth quest. Here's what we need:
- Girl Scouts - Outdoors (1 book)
- Girl Scouts - Life Skills (1 book)
- Boy Scouts (3 books)

Thanks Kathy, I am not keeping up with posting as well as I would like. I am 6 days out from a hip replacement and although I have fortunately not had to take my heavy duty pain relievers, I am tired and slow and clearly missing some pieces.

Our classics book club is reading Slouching Toward Bethlehem and as with most essay collections, I love some of the essays and have to work through others.

I loved The Goldfinch when I read it several years ago, but it is not a book that lends itself to whipping through it for a read-a-thon.

I hope you are doing well with your recovery, Edie.

Hey all! Happy last day of the Read-A-Thon! I hope you have all been busy reading today instead of playing on Goodreads like me lol.

I've finished another book, so we are just 4 books short of completing Quest 3. Let's see if we can get through this quest before the Read-A-Thon is over!

It's Agatha Christie Day! So obviously I had to start one. I make no promises or guarantees that I'll finish it today, but I will do my best. Plus I'd been itching to pick up Lord Edgware Dies again anyway.

message 124: by Edie (new)

Edie | 1147 comments I read 154 pages to finish Slouching Toward Bethlehem which I have am slotting in the Journalism badge under Boy Scouts. 3 Badges to go! Sadly, I will not get Saturday completed today. So it's up to the rest of team Cookie.

message 125: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments Oh no for some reason I thought we had tomorrow too! I will do my best to finish my book before I go to bed tonight but I have about 150 pages remaining so no promises! 😞

message 126: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3332 comments I just finished Invitation to the Waltz which fits Girl Scouts Life Skills - Social Butterfly. So we've finished the Life Skills section.

2 Badges to go!

message 127: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 943 comments I finished House of Gold which works for the Boy Scouts badge gardening or nature, among others. I will update spreadsheet in the am but that should leave only one to go!!

message 128: by Kathy Jo (new)

Kathy Jo (kjsotr) | 304 comments I didn't finish any books today, didn't have time to read. But I finished 3 books, not as many as I would have liked, but not bad. Good job team cookie!
