I did finish Frankenstein tonight though and will update spreadsheet in the morning and decide what to read next.

I finished The Library at the Edge of the World and added it to the Contemporary shelf on the spreadsheet.

I started Three Women and will also begin another fiction book. I need to read through the other threads before deciding what to read. Do we know what the next quest is yet?
I haven't peeked at the other team's threads to see... maybe I'll do that lol
Jackie, I put your book under LGBT! We just need two more books to move on!

Ok I popped over and it looks like Quest 2 is 10 books that are related it to ATY in some way, whether through title or read for the challenge or fits a 2020 prompt or.. it seems really open to interpretation. So we can cross that bridge when we get to it!

Hi Team Cookie!
I held off on joining a team because I always feel like a slacker on team challenges. But I've actually been doing fairly well with my reading this time around.
So I'm going to pull some mod strings (if that's a thing) and join now.
I finished My Lovely Wife on Sunday and we can apply it to stand-alone.
So I believe that means we've finished quest 1?
I've been speeding through The Girls at 17 Swann Street so I should finish it tomorrow. I can look at how it fits Quest 2 then.

Quest #2
Sometimes a quest takes you closer to home than you expect. The next step of the journey focuses on your "home" in the ATY group.
Read 10 books that are somehow related to the ATY group. This includes (limited to) the following:
- A books with that starts with a letter found in "AROUND THE YEAR"
- A book that one of the moderators rated as 5 stars
- A book for the 2019 or 2020 challenge
- A book for the Fall/Autumn Challenge
- A book you originally discovered within the group
- A book from ATY's "lesser known" book list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Ok I've added a planning tab! If you had a book on the first planning tab, I've moved it over to our new quest's tab, so you just need to fill in how it will fit in the possible prompts!

The Golden Compass is going a little slower than expected. Plus I've been busy with other things. May be Thursdat or Friday before I finish.
I really liked that one, Tracy! It’s surprising but I actually liked it a bit more than THUG. I suspect it was just the right time for it versus when I read THUG. It’s fascinating how much of a difference the timing of the read can make.

Its GOOD!! I read a big chunk of it last night because I was having trouble sleeping, my kindle says I only have about an hour left to finish, so I should be done today... WOOT!
I still havent read THUG, I dont know why. And i need to because I want to watch the movie.
Definitely read the book first for THUG, but the movie is a bit different and so, so good. My husband actually thanked me for making him go see it with me lol.

Currently reading One Hundred Names by Ceceilia Ahearn which I am also reading for the Fall Challenge.

I have several books going that are fairly short (but more than 125 pages!) that I hope to get done soon.
Peter Pan fits a book for 2020 challenge - a book you can read in a day
Save Me the Plums: My Gourmet Memoir - listening on audio - it's for my 2019 Fall Challenge
American Born Chinese - graphic novel (so should be fast) that fits a book that starts with letter found in AROUND THE YEAR
Will add all to the spreadsheet

Finally finished Why Didn't They Ask Evans?; I'm not normally so slow with an Agatha Christie. I stuck it in the slot for "for the Fall challenge" since that was the only place it could go. We seem to be rolling right along!
Great, guys!
MKay, how would it fit in with the prompts for quest 2?
We are only one book away from Quest 3!

I did end up finishing The Girls at 17 Swann Street last night so we’ve finished quest 2 :) We can apply it to 2019 challenge, related to food.
Excellent Laura! I'm so curious to see what our Quest 3 is!
I'm getting through Dear Mrs. Bird pretty quickly, so I'm hoping it fits quest 3 as well!

Quest 3:
For our next stop, we're going to take a trip back in time... for most of us. Some of the group may remember being a member of the girl scouts in school, even if for a short time. If not that, you may enjoy the lovely time of year (my personal favorite) when we order girl scout cookies.
Girls scouts haven't always been treated the same way as their male counterparts. Since then, many have advocated for increased equality and, in June of this year, they added 42 new badges for girl scouts, encouraging more well-rounded skill development and exploration.
So for this challenge you get to explore some of those badges. Each team will be asked to read books somehow connected to the various categories. This can include a number of different things, including title, content, setting, cover, etc. In the spirit of equality, you will also be asked to read books linked to the various boy scout badges. Use your imagination and have fun!
Girl Scout Badges
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math [2 books needed]
- Animals [Pets, Animal Habitats/Helpers, Voice for Animals]
- Investigation [Senses, Detective, Special Agent, Truth Seeker]
- Science and Technology [Home Scientist, Entertainment Technology, Science of Happiness, Science of Style]
- Digital Arts [Computer Expert, Digital Photographer, Digital Movie Maker, Website Designer]
Outdoors [1 Book Needed]
- Naturalist [Bugs, Flowers, Trees, Sky, Water]
Life Skills [3 Books Needed]
- Craft [Potter, Jeweler, Book Artist, Textile Artist]
- Healthy Living [My Best Health, Staying Fit, Eating for You, Women's Health]
- Manners [Making Friends, Social Butterfly, Netiquette, Business Etiquette]
Entrepreneurship [1 Book Required]
- Cookie Business [Count it Up, Meet my Customers, Cookie CEO, Business Plan, My Portfolio, Research and Development, Talk it Up, Give Back, Customer Insights, Marketing, Customer Loyalty, P&L, Think Big]
- Financial Literacy [Money Counts/Manager, Business Owner, Budgeting, Financing my Future, On My Own, Making Choices, Philanthropist, Savvy Shopper, Comparison Shopping, Buying Power, Good Credit, Financing my Dreams]
- Innovation [Inventor, Product Designer, Entrepreneur, Social Innovator]
Note: You only have to read the number of books specified for each section. Each list contains multiple badge categories (i.e. digital arts). The specific badges are listed in parentheses (i.e. Computer Expert). You may read multiple books from the same category, just like a scout can explore each area more in-depth. But you can't earn more than one of the same, specific badge.
Boy Scout Badges
Boy Scouts have a whopping 137 badges to choose from, with subjects spanning all the way from "Bugling" to "Dog Care". For the remainder of your quest, simply choose 8 topics from the (modified) list. You are only permitted to read 1 book per item so you will read 8 different "topics".This should give you a total of 15 badges in order to move forward.

Again, be creative in your connections. This is all for fun and there is no need to be literal. For instance, for the financial literacy category, you may even read a coming-of-age story for someone moving away from home in order to fulfill the "On My Own" badge.

Thanks Laura!
I’m already in bed (at 8 PM lol) but I’ll put the spreadsheet together tomorrow morning!

I'm currently working on Wind, Sand and Stars (and it's due back to the library in two days so I really have to hop on it lol) and it's perfect for the Boys' Aviation badge.

For the spreadsheet tomorrow, I finished:
Save Me the Plums: My Gourmet Memoir, which is food writer Ruth Reichl's memoir of her time as editor in chief at the magazine Gourmet.
Fits: Boy Scouts Badge - Journalism

I’ll go with the Girl Scout STEM badge to do with investigation for Three Women since it is all about these women exploring/investigating their lives through their desire and sexuality.

May work for stem or Entrepreneur. If I can finish it....
