What Genre Of Book Do You NOT Read?!!
Romance. I know, I must be the only woman in the world... I did listen to Love Story the other day and it was a wonderful book. But it was peppered with two very interesting characters and was very punchy. I will try to open my horizons ;)
I am not a fan of fantasy or science fiction novels. I struggle to get into anything involving make-believe worlds. P.S. I LOVE romance novels! I have been reading them for decades and the genre has expanded well beyond the narrow selections of the Mills&Boon/Harlequin romances that seemed to be the only choice years ago.

I agree with T. Straker.... you are not “the only woman in the world” who doesn’t like romance novels. I hate them... won’t touch them no matter what the hype. Yuck!
I said I've tried just about every genre available, but I found one I won't even try: Shifter romances.
Couldn't tell you, Amber. Other than knowing that saga exists and half the world is ga-ga over it, I don't know a thing about it.
LOL, Quillracer. I'm not "gaga" over it. Or zombies where they DON'T belong...like STAR WARS. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... are about the two zombie/STAR WARS mash-ups.

I know, Amber. I only said half the world is "ga-ga" over it.
Young adult contemporary (excluding those with mystery/thriller elements) and adult high fantasy, both incredibly popular genres but I can't seem to enjoy them.

Obviously not because I'm not.*wink*
I don't read books with vampires, werewolves in, or erotica. Even worse, all three combined in one story!!

Science Fiction, Fantasy or Romance... no thanks I am pretty sure the book I am reading right now has a werewolf type creature in it. It has yet to be fully revealed.
But I am happy to say a character I couldn’t stand was just killed in off.
I don't like fantasy, vampires, werewolves...Do not like Harry Potter type books. Not a fan of romance novels either.
Just starting to listen to
The Widow's House by Carol Goodman after finishing the brilliant
In the Morning I'll be Gone by Adrian McKinty. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
Romance and horror. Most science fiction and most fantasy don’t interest me, but I will occasionally dip into those genres for an exceptional book.
Not a big fan of the sappy romance novels....read way too many Harlequin paperbacks when I was younger. My aunt was addicted to them and I think I read everyone she had. Let's be real here...Love is not like it is in a romance novel...LOL
Yeah I agree with you on them not being the real world. I read them but as a break from the high octane thrillers and heavy subjects in mysteries. Losing interest in the books with serial killers and lots of gore.
I'm with you, Lisa.Romances are like palate cleansers for the mind.
I've had more than my fill of serial killer and gore-fest books, too.
Romance, erotica and teen stuff. Not a huge fan of extreme science fiction, but won't avoid it like I do the others.
Erotica is the only genre I don't read extensively in. In fact the only one I have read was Walter Mosely's The Killing of Johnny Fry and loved it.d.
I don’t care for romance. I don’t mind if characters are getting it on, but somebody better be getting murdered.
I am not going to read horror or romances. I don't mind romance in an otherwise well written fiction, but to have the romance as the end all and be all of a book bores me. Horror... just no. I do love a good murder mystery or suspense story.
These are great questions. I will try just about anything once. I used to read romances all the time in my 20s. Quite over that, now. I don't read comic books/graphic novels (except The Walking Dead).
I tried horror books, just don’t like them. To dark for my taste. I usually give most book a try before I decide to finish!!

True crime gets too gory for me.
