Amna So, talk over here, talk about what you thought of the ending!

Do you guys think Rick Riordan will continue the story? (I hope he does)

anyway, this discussion is all about the ending!

Leah-Marie Villafana I really wanted at least another chapter after the end.

Josefa I usually hate the epilogues, like the Harry Potter or the Hunger Games ones, but I wanted an epilogue here. I really did. I don't feel the closure of and ending.
I feel like he left it so that he could continue the series if he wanted to, but I don't think he will.

Maggie I feel like it needs an epilogue. Something where Leo and Calypso return triumphant, maybe a few years later. That would round the book off well and give some sense of closure.

Magpie Did anyone think it was coincidental that the Hephaestus cabin gave Leo Beckendorf's bed, saying it was cursed, and then in the end, Leo did die? And in a way eeriely similar to Beckendorf's...the whole sacrifice blowing up a ship thing

Leah-Marie Villafana I just really felt it should have had some closure because it was sorta weird how it ended.

Amna Its the hephestus curse you guys.

Molly I thought that the book should of had an epilogue too. Or just another chapter. I really wanted to see Leo and Calypso return to all the other demigods...

Barbara I also felt the ending was a little incomplete. Would have loved to see a reunion between Leo and the others. It seems almost cruel to leave the others believing Leo had died. I would have liked a little glimpse into the lives of the demigods. Maybe I just don't really want to let Percy go.

Molly I totally agree with you! We definitely needed some kind of reunion at the end for closure.

Fosse76 The last chapter should have been given Percy's POV. :-)

However, how accurate is the prophecy? Though Leo died, if momentarily, it is not technically his final breath.

I personally think it wrapped up nicely and a epilogue isn't really needed, but I too hope we haven't seen the last of these characters.

Yes. :'(
Why, Leo? Why?

Allison I think the ending was too sudden and way too fast. It was cute though.

Magpie Yeah, and I dunno, you can make stuff up too.
Like-OMG
Leo and Calypso didn't exactly specify where they were going.
Mysterious circumstances, there's a good chance they could...you know...end up in Boston. Meet Magnus Chase...
Hmm, hmm?
That would be flippin amazing

Saskia I felt like there could have been another 100 pages and the end about Leo reuniting with his friends. I wanted to see the Seven's reactions when they saw Leo.

Molly I know, me too!!!!

I WANTED AN EPILOGUE SO BAD. OR ANOTHER CHAPTER OF LEO COMING BACK AND EVERYONE'S REACTIONS AND THEN MEETING CALY AND AUGH

Molly Exactly.

Eunice T. Percy meets Calyspo again. That's going to be beautiful. But for now, we rely on fanfiction.

Naina CLOSURE! THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING YOU, RICK!

Aletheia Epilogue please! Why leave us wondering if Leo and Calypso would make it to Camp Half Blood and what would be their reaction especially if Percy meet Calypso again! Ugh. I really want them to have reunion together!! Too bad that didn't happen in the book cause Leo's missing.

Rachel Paige Hamlin I need an epilouge.
Yeah, great we know Leo lives, happy ending for us.
What about his friends? All the kids at camp half-blood think he's dead!
Do they think that forever? Does Leo go back?

Worst. Ending. Ever.

Sheechiibii The first thing Leo worries about when he comes back is how the battle ended, and then he tells Calypso they're going "somewhere to fix my dragon, first" I'm certain he means camp half-blood. That's further backed up when he thinks 'He needed to let Jason and Piper and the others know he was okay.'

Molly I hope you're right!
