I listened to the book this year (summer, I think).

The book is part of a series, titled after the name of the town where the story take place. The lead male characters graduated from the same high school.

The prologue starts when the main female character (mother) is still in High School. She is dating a star ball player. She has a really early curfew so she goes home and her boyfriend (father) goes out to a house party. Later that night, she is informed that her boyfriend dies in a car accident.

She finds out that she is pregnant and her parents pack her up and send her to her aunt in TX so that no one in town finds out that she is pregnant.

Several years later, she and her son move back to her childhood home, across the street from her previous boyfriend's parents.

The brother of her previous boyfriend comes across the street to find out who is moving in and the son answers the door.

It takes a few weeks for the brother to discover that the child is his nephew.

Eventually, the brother asks her to marry him. He uses a series of notes around the house and his nephew to make the actual proposal.

The car that the mother is driving is not in great condition. The brother takes her car to the junk year and buys her a new car.

The girl moves in with her aunt in TX. The aunt helps her register for school and she gets a hairdressing degree.

The aunt steals all of the letters that the girl tries to send to the family of the father. She is very mad that the parents of the father never contact her. She does not discover that the letters were never sent until she speaks with her aunt.

The brother runs a family contracting company. The Uncle took over the construction company after the grandfather had a heart attack.

The father was cheating with another high school girl. This other girl was pregnant. She ended the pregnancy after the boy dies. The brother threatens to tell the girl about the other woman. This causes the father to race home in order to try and stop this conversation. He is very drunk and gets in an accident.

No worries. Glad I could help. Not long read this myself, so it was pretty fresh in my mind. Just had to find name of the book.

It's always good to find new authors, although it can be hard to keep up with the TBR list.

Not too sure how to move it to the SOLVED folder. Is there somewhere, a tab maybe at the top of your page, that says you can move it elsewhere?? Maybe someone else will see the post & help out. Sorry.
