There is a mini slot between the charging slot and the power button, very hard to access but I managed to press the tip of my very small manicure scissors to it and still nothing happened.
I am now trying to get a discount from amazon.com for a new one. It seems to be my only option, especially if I ever want to get support in the future. But I bet the shipping rates will be insane. Makes no sense when Spain is right next door and they don't even deliver to Portugal. So weird.

Yep I did, unfortunately nothing works.
Well, I don't want to jynx it, but I think that when I get home tonight I will be able to order a Kindle Paperwhite at a special discount rate and keep my sanity.
In the meantime, I have been reading on my phone. I intend to have the book done in time to start the buddy read. Thank you again to all who have waited for me, I really appreciate it!

Hi Aaron.
Well, that's that, I have ordered a new Kindle Paperwhite. Hopefully I will get it by the end of the week.

The Kindle Paperwhite is great, Leigh. It imitates paper better than I ever though was possible for a screen.
And yes, it seems Voyage is only available in the US for now. Reviews are mixed though. Some glitches were reported, particularly because of the light, I think.

As far as Paperwhite goes, B&N offers an equivalent, and if books is all you do on your ereader, it is completely the way to go. You can read outside in direct sun, you can read in very little light, you can still change the type/size of font...the advantages are amazing.
I've been dragged into the technological age, but now that I'm here I would really, really miss it if it was snatched away.
Good luck Ana!
Well, now I bought it from amazon.com and they can give me the support I need. So hopefully it will work out for the best! It should arrive thursday at the earliers and monday at the latest. Can't wait!
Sounds great about Nook but, again, mobi files are a lot easier to get, especially through Netgalley!

Nope, I got it second hand. It was bought in Spain and I live in Portugal, and since it was registered to amazon.co.uk it was impossible to get support.
Yes Aaron, the site that gives you free books in exchange for reviews.

Yep, I had heard there were similar options :) It took me a while to finally decide for Amazon but since it seemed easier to get content for it that's where my choice went :)

Go figure....
Me neither, I wrote that somewhere in the forum... I loooove the dictionary feature and being able to highlight and take notes. That's all I use mine for. And it's not even 3G. I don't need it for anything else than reading. Besides, the less stuff it has the more the battery lasts so perfect for me.

I could not agree more about the battery!!!! They charge theirs every single day! I charge mine every three to four weeks for the glow and once a week for the tablet. If I had to charge it every day it would always be dead.
Yep, that's what worried me the most before purchasing the device. I saw that if the light setting was the lowest and the person read an average of 30 minutes a day it could last up to 8 weeks. I was like... Hey, I intend to read for several hours a day, so how long will it last me? And I usually use the medium lighting setting. But I am very happy with it, I am not exactly sure how long it lasts but 3 weeks for sure. It's plenty more than any tablet out there could even dream of growing up to be :P

I actually have rain today! Really just a scattered drizzle, but still exciting.

You set that up, or the bank does it automatically? Either way, good deal.

Sleepy! Long night yesterday and going to have another tonight. Not much time to read :( On the bright side, my Kindle Paperwhite should arrive today or tomorrow :D

That's my girl. :D

Good night!

It's 8:30 a.m. for me. I am usually at work before now, but during the school year I work late on Wednesdays so start a little later.
Tonight is my library book club meeting. We read Sense and Sensibility for January and will be getting The Namesake for February.

It can be. I love my job, but there are days...just like any other, I guess.

I don't really know what a consumer advocate is. Good luck in the search. I don't think it's easy anywhere nowadays unless you are willing to take minimum wage and no benefits. O_o

Ah...those were the days! Too bad adults can't hop a sled like that! You in the middle of Juno?

My Kindle Paperwhite arrived a couple hours ago *does happy dance* I thought it would not arrive before yesterday at the earliest, Amazon's prediction was Monday O.o
I've been downloading items for almost an hour now xD Roughly 2/3 of the way teehee. Can't wait till it's done and I get some time to sit down and read on it. Not sure if that will happen tonight. Fingers crossed!

There is no way to retrieve your account all at once? Geesh! Must be satisfying, though, almost liking getting 669 BRAND NEW BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG that's so fun! I've never heard of people doing that before. You can have some of my snow if you guys want to sled some more... :)

Sadly, he had a funeral this morning so had to wear a suit so couldn't play in it as it was blown. He isn't back yet. By the time he is, it will have all melted. :(

So true. Time zones blow my mind, too. How can it be tomorrow in Australia??

Nope, I made sure to set it as my default device, but it still only auto updates new books. I had already read several of those, but you never know when you want to revisit them.
