Good luck deciding, Alison.
Shall we change the name of this thread as well? Any ideas?
Super Speedy Stand-bys? Second String Support?

Super Speedy Stand-bys? Second String Support?

Those are both good. But I think I like the "Second String Support" better. It made me snicker!

Sad Second String, Shady Second String, ...no
Squad, staff, switch, systematize, subcategorize, scramble, stack, swarm, separate, sever, split, split-up, scatter, shore-up, sustain, stay, stand-in, sub, substitute, surrogate, stopgap, snarl, slowdown, stoppage, successor, supplant, superseded, sponsor, strangle, seize, snatch, stake, share, stipulate, sabotage, stifle, stunt, stifle, shore, shore-up, stay, spur, stanchion, stand, stilt, strut, service, succor, sidewith, save, sabotage, steady, stress???¿¿¿??? I actually like "Second String Support" a lot.

Book: Encantado: A Myth

Finished: 8/30/19

Review: I don't usually like books where the conflict between the main characters is caused by a huge misunderstanding, but in this case, it was alright. It was good to see the guy and girl struggle to work things out, even though both had serious doubts and frustrations. LOVED the ending! I'm hoping the author will write a book about the younger brother. Hmmm, should I suggest it to her?

Fits - Bewitching Bedlam #2
Date - 9/1/19
Rating - ★★★★
Review - this is an interesting urban fantasy series, where the main character is a witch who has been alive for over three hundred years. In this book she has to deal with some strange happenings that turn out to be caused by a hex and then figure out who put the hex on her, and deal with that. It is an easy read with some romance, magic, other creatures, and some mystery.

Review: This is my favorite version of the Beauty and the Beast tale. It is so similar to Disney's movie that I wonder if the company borrowed some of the parts of the book. The supporting characters in the story really come to life, even Beauty's horse. I recommend this book to everyone!

Review: The author tried to portray Aunt Bessie as a Miss Marple, elderly, friendly confidant to the townsfolk. It didn't quite work. At least Aunt Bessie was on good terms with the local police.
There were many inconsistencies. The main character would complain if she didn't get enough sleep and then would get upset if people mentioned how old she was. Also the main character would complain that her feet hurt, but then she would go for a long walk to stretch her legs. The book was in sad need of an editor.

Review: The writing in this story was solid, sweet and tense in the places they were supposed to be. The way that Courage's face was healed was a little unbelievable though. I did like how the author was able to keep Lorissa's character true through the book, and how she tied up Lorissa's faith in herself and in God.
