I only pick books that look like I would like to read. I usually go by genre. I also usually only try for books that are giving at least 10 away because I am not usually very lucky. I get really excited when I do win.

Yeah, I've gotten some interesting ones that I wouldn't have ever read otherwise.

I think that MAY be because, as you pointed out somewhere, you stopped posting reviews here after Amazon bought them and one of the criteria to win is writing reviews.

I see. Hmmm. Posting a link to the review probably doesn't count.

Yeah, I don't think it would because it reduces value for the site.

I know what you mean. I have one sitting on my nightstand that I won and I just don't want to read it. I know I have to because there is an obligation to read and review because that really is the point of the giveaway although the rules state you're not obligated but I feel I am.

I feel obligated to review as well. With my last win I wasn't feeling it, but ended up deciding to give it 50% of the book. 50% of the book for me to get into it is a little too much for me because it takes away from so many other things in life. But, it did end up ok. I gave the book 3 stars and feel like I never need to read the book again.

Well, I went ahead and finally read the book and I did enjoy it. Even when it's a subject you don't want to read about if the book is well written you can still enjoy it

My process is not to select books I know I won't enjoy reading. Then from what's left I pick both books I'd probably buy anyway and books to stretch myself a little. So, I wouldn't NORMALLY buy this book, but I don't expect to hate it. (Similar to the process that guides whether I buy the Humble Bundle or Story Bundle books - when each books is essentially a dollar, the barriers to trying new things is lowered)
