Liz (liz_the_librarian) Sorry for being a bit late to the party this week. I normally like to post these threads on Monday, but this week has been a busy one!

It looks like the group had died down since the beginning of the year, which is to be expected. How is everyone's goal coming? I've nearly reached my goal of reading 75 books. I thought I would have completed it by now, but life happens.

What are you reading this week?

I'm finishing up The Testing trilogy, breaking into the Outlander series and wrapping up the second book in The Kingkiller Chronicles.
Graduation Day (The Testing, #3) by Joelle Charbonneau Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss

message 2: by Pattie (new)

Pattie Babbitt I feel pretty on track for the challenge. I am shooting for 52 books geared towards adults, and I am at around 42 I think. My problem is I often read middle school levels books through the year (this is not a real problem...just my job!), and this challenge has been wonderful at making me focus on books for me!
Currently I am reading "The Book Club" by Mary Alice Monroe and "Winter Garden" by Kristen Hannah. Both great so far. A few weeks ago I finished "Golden Boy" by Abigail Tarttelin and I can't recommend it enough. SO SO GOOD!

Julie | 130 comments I think I'm on book 33 of 52, or thereabouts. I am behind where I would like to be, but I think I can still reach my goal.

I'm currently reading Speaker for the Dead (second book after Ender's Game) for the sci-fi challenge and am nearly done with it. I just finished a free kindle book called Finding Infinity. I also just started Man-Eaters of Kumaon which was recommended to me by my dad.

Kyra Hay | 41 comments I think I'm around 45 books at the moment, my goal was 75 but I'm not sure if I'll reach it this year!

message 5: by Vivian (new)

Vivian | 54 comments I am way behind! Ive only read about 29 books but since I'm reading all of The Game of Thrones series which clock in around 1000 pages each, I guess that is to be expected. I'm half way through the last book, so hopefully I can get caught up when I finish.

Justine (jaimelinus0316) I'm at 44, but I started chain-reading and fell behind on writing reviews/logging books on the website. Decided to take a break from fluff novels and started reading mystery. Finished the first Philip Marlowe and starting the next one.

Jodie Reha Just finished All Fall Down by Jennifer Weiner. I want to finish The Witness Wore Red and Prophet's Prey, both books about the FLDS Church and its prophet, Warren Jeffs. I started both and got halfway through beore picking up the Jennifer Weiner book.

I realized I have only read 24 books so far! My goal is 52, so I think I can still reach it.

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I have read 36 books so far. It's going to be cutting it close on getting to 52 with the holidays coming up, but I think I can do it. Currently, I picked up the first Jack Reacher book. I have read/listened to a couple, but totally out of order.

message 9: by Ann (new)

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments So far this week, I've read The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle and The Next Always and The Last Boyfriend, both by Nora Roberts. I'm also listening to The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Not sure what to read next, but several of my auto-read authors have books coming out, and I'm still working on a couple of different mystery series.
With these last 3 books, I've reached 151 books, so I've met my goal for the year. Not sure how much reading I'll get done the rest of the year, though. I've got things I want to get done, and hopefully will be able to.
The Hound of the Baskervilles (Sherlock Holmes, #5) by Arthur Conan Doyle The Next Always (Inn BoonsBoro, #1) by Nora Roberts The Last Boyfriend (Inn BoonsBoro, #2) by Nora Roberts The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon, #2) by Dan Brown

Liz (liz_the_librarian) I'm glad to see everyone is getting a lot of reading done! Even if you don't make it to 52 books, I hope you were able to discover something you may not have normally picked out.

There's still plenty of time left, and don't forget: everyone gets a small prize for completing the challenge! Not to mention: one grand prize winner will get an iPad.

Now the question is: what should be the grand prize for next year?
