► UNSOLVED: One specific book > YA stand alone mystery novel where the main character (female) solves a murder/crime; had to do with cycling/bicycles

randomreader | 8 comments Hi everyone! I was just thinking about a book I read a few years back and wondered if anyone can tell me the title:

I read the book sometimes between 2012 and 2014 latest, and it was by a female author who was either a cyclist herself or was just facinated and followed the sport (though I think she was a cyclist herself). The book followed a female character (think her name was Sam, but I could be wrong) in her late teens who was trying to solve a murder/crime that involved another cyclist, who was male. I remember one part of the book in particular where she participated in an event and veered off course and found some evidence (I don't remember what the evidence was, sorry). Her bike might've been tampered with at that point in the novel as well. It was a stand alone YA novel with no sequel, as far as I'm concerned, and hardcover.

All guesses are appreciated!

A guess - Trails of Treachery or The Bike Tour Mystery by Carolyn Keene? Nancy Drew has a female friend named George.

Randomreader, what's the tone - mystery, crime, thriller, coming-of-age, funny at times, etc.? Is there romance?

What is the story's time period and location (country/region/city/town)?
