Esther wrote: "Thanks for the thoughts. She made it through the night. At some point I did not think she would. Honestly, I have been expecting this for the last 5 years. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 10 yea..."Alzheimer's is such a cruel disease. I have a distant family member suffering with it as well and it is so hard to watch. She no longer knows who her children are the majority of the time and never recognizes her grandchildren. My thoughts go out to you and your family. *hugs*
I finished Angelfall last night! It was a great read. I look forward to continuing the series. I started on Fat Is the New 30: The Sweet Potato Queens' Guide to Coping with (the crappy parts of) Life yesterday evening. It is pretty hilarious!

I finished The Metamorphosis for task 38 and rolled 37 for another book.37+38=75-40=35.
35 = Short Line – Read a book between 150 and 200 pages long.
I'm reading The Lost World.
Debra wrote: "I finished The Metamorphosis for task 38 and rolled 37 for another book."Go Debra! You are our team's reading machine :)
Esther wrote: "Well, J'mom said no. So no swap between first and other rolls."No worries. I found a purple book. At my library the books are rebinded with hard covers and the original cover is put inside. So to find a book based on a cover color, you need to open each book to the first page... It can be quite time consuming. The Agatha Christie editions they have are quite colorful so I tried my luck there. And it payed off :). I found Cat Among the Pigeons. It can't get more purple than that. So I am set for my third book.
Btw, I won't be very active at the end of the toppler either. I am flying to Berlin for the weekend (but will read on the plane!) to visit my boyfriend. I will make sure to finish the book and report it here though.
Oh, I just saw that I have read that one already... but when I looked at the description in the back it didn't sound familiar. Must have been a long time ago. So I will reread it :)
Esther, my heart goes out to you and your family. It must be very hard for you right now. Thanks for keeping up with the Toppler while life is pulling you in other directions.

I've gotten pretty lucky with my rolls and have been able to read fairly small books. Plus, most have been page-turners and quick reads. It helps I've had some time off work, too. So, all I've been doing is reading, reading, reading! lol
Esther, I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you!
Debra wrote: "It helps I've had some time off work, too. So, all I've been doing is reading, reading, reading! lol"That is awesome! My husband will be out of the house all day tomorrow (Saturday) so I'm planning to get an early start and follow your lead. :D
I've finished The Wolves of Solomon for my task. Not sure whether to risk rolling again in case I can't finish it though...
Thanks for the toughts. My aunt may pull through. I cannot beleive it.... But she seems a little bit better... Time will tell, i guess. Now, what to do? I am toying with rolling again but I do not dare. I have about an hour left on my audio. I could do a short one still as i will have tasks that allow me to listen today. But i cannot wait as i cannot take the time to gopher once i am at work. And if i hit a chance, i will not have and answer from J'mon in time. So i am going to pass... The 2 books i am on will be my last ones. I should finish my paper one tonight and my audio this morning.
I finished my second book Death Comes as the End and I will start Cat among the Pigeons. These minus points really demotivate going for an additional book. But it is fine with me if you guys want to risk it. At the end it is all about the pleasure of reading :)
Besides, destiny favors the brave!
I like living on the edge. I'm over the midway point with my spooky fall-themed third book, so I rolled again - 23, which takes me to tile 31. Sandy's Treedome! Read a book about someone who is not in their own environment. The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific
Am finished with my fourth book The Christmas Note (Task 3, Roll 5) and an halfway through my roll 4 book. Not sure about rolling again - will see in an hour or so how my current one is doing.
Okay I've taken the risk and have rolled a 20 taking me around the board to number 16 Tumblr (Social Media Edition). I'm going to read Why Big Fierce Animals Are Rare for this which is written as a collection of essays on various environmental and ecological questions (hoping this counts!).Fingers crossed for finishing :-)
Good luck to all of you last minute rollers! I don't think I can possibly fit in another book, but I will definitely finish my current read tonight or in the morning first thing. I have a really busy weekend planned so I'm not sure exactly when I will be able to report that I'm finished.
Sam, essays should be fine. But you can always ask jmom for confirmation. Keeping fingers crossed that you will finish it!
It looks like I will not have access to my computer during lunch. So i am sneaking in on my phone will waiting for a reboot. I will not be able to do my usual message but we are a 260 points!Go team! 24 hours to go. let's finish these tasks!
I'll finish my last book tonight. I think everyone is doing an awesome job, especially Esther for being our leader!
Hmm I'm not really enjoying my book at all. It's for roll 1 so I have to complete it. I'm going to look for another book. Thankfully it's for Short Line so should be okay.
Sarah wrote: "Hmm I'm not really enjoying my book at all. It's for roll 1 so I have to complete it. I'm going to look for another book. Most have been riveting and kept me up past my bed-time!
I decided to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for short line. I've never enjoyed the films but loved the book when I was younger so thought I'd read it again.
I finished my last task, yea!If anyone knows they're not going to be able to finish a book in time post it here - there may be someone who can pick it up! This is one area where my time zone is a boon, as I can read right up to the deadline, hehe. ^^v
Esther wrote: "Francis is the only sport related author I read. No title available for me. I am sure i would have found something eventuaĺly but Helen save me hours of hunting. (Did i said how much i like her?)"
LOL! That's the good part of teamwork.
Debra wrote: "Finished Graverobbers Wanted: No Experience Necessary last night. Starting The Shuddering now. Woohoo!"This sounds really good, and if I ever feel up to reading something gruesome I'll give this one a try.
and 310 points!!!!!and 6 books to go... I am almost done with mine. Even if I fall asleep on it tonight, I will have plenty of time in the morning...
Esther wrote: "Thanks for the toughts. My aunt may pull through. I cannot beleive it.... But she seems a little bit better... Time will tell, i guess. Now, what to do? I am toying with rolling again but I do no..."
I'm so sorry about your aunt. That's such a horribly sad situation when the person you know is gone, and you're not sure what they're feeling or thinking.

If that doesn't work, I could read The Fifth Mountain. I will have to get the ebook, but I hope that in that case the tp goodreads cover counts.
