I read this book a few years ago. It starts with a girl and she's walking home from her job (lifeguard I think) at the beach and she's hit by a truck that came from nowhere. She swears this killed her but a boy ran up to her and did something and she's still alive. This boys name is Ben. He's in her class and has a few other friends, but is in a foster home. It's later revealed that Ben has powers and is from another dimension. The trip to this dimension gave him powers. He is trying to get home. The Mc's (girl) dad works with the FBI and her and her dad makes lots of X-files references throughout the book. There was a party that happened sometime before the book where an incident happened and the Mc has no memory of it and ben got really mad.
PLEASE help me find the name of this book, it has been killing me for about 2 years now. I read this book around 2017.
