Hi I read this book a few years ago I know it’s not the first in the series they have an enemy whose kidnaping humans the hero finds out you can mate human females and they go on a search for them along the way they come across an enemy ship and as they search it after destroying the enemy they hear a female call out asking for her when they pull her from the cage she was in they notice the enemy has removed her eyes and burned the sockets so they can never be healed.

Haven't read it, but Enticed By The Corsair seems to have a heroine who was blinded by enemy aliens.
