Lanelle Round 1 is finished!!!!! Well done, everyone.

You can now post your reviews for Round 2. Be sure to look at message 5 for any unfinished spots or to check progress.

Library Queen | 320 comments I just finished a book I was gonna use for the straight, but it would actually work well for section 1 task 1 instead. Do you want me to do that? It'd be fine with me and I have to read another book for a challenge that could take its place in the straight.

That would be fine. I started a book for Yahtzee and decided it would actually work better for #6 for Section 1, as well.

message 154: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Ok, I'll go put that down then.

message 155: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I peeked at Team Daisy (again) and they are about six books ahead of us. How is everyone doing on their reading?

message 156: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie I'm in the middle of an almost 700 page book and about to finish another one. We can do this, team!

message 157: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments I just started my first book for four of a kind! I’m doing YA again.

First up is: Loki: Where Mischief Lies

message 158: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I just finished my 3rd book for the small straight and will probably finish my 4th tomorrow and then post them all at once.

message 159: by Lanelle (last edited Sep 07, 2019 08:44PM) (new)

Lanelle Davina, I just finished Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer for a different reading challenge. Can you use it in your Large Straight somewhere? It will work for 2 or 4 for pages (224) or 1, 2, or 5 for year published (2015).

If you want to complete the Large Straight task by yourself, I completely understand. I haven't used my Chance spot yet. I could put it there.

I'll be starting my black or white cover tonight. I should finish it tomorrow.

message 160: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Hey Lanelle, yeah it would work for 5. Thanks!

Lanelle Davina wrote: "Hey Lanelle, yeah it would work for 5. Thanks!"

That was very generous of you. Thank you. I've reported the book and marked it in message 5.

message 162: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie no problem at all!

message 163: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I can do a book for section 1 task 5, if that's ok. I have one with a hand on it.

message 164: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "I can do a book for section 1 task 5, if that's ok. I have one with a hand on it."

Go for it. And good job on getting the Small Straight finished!

message 165: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Thanks! I'll do that and my chance book next.

message 166: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I just finished my black or white covered book and I have already begun a book whose title begins with a Y, A, H, T, Z, or E. That will complete the Yahtzee task.

We are halfway through this round!

message 167: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Hey Lanelle, don't forget to add each point to the tasks in section 1. Pages + 1 point. :)

message 168: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "Hey Lanelle, don't forget to add each point to the tasks in section 1. Pages + 1 point. :)"

Thanks for the reminder, Jada. I've updated the scoring.

On a personal note: I am visiting my daughter-in-law in Las Vegas for the next week. She's been alone with kids since my son deployed to Afghanistan last May. I'm here to babysit and clean and whatever else she needs, so there won't be too much time for reading. I promise to read like crazy when I get back home :)

message 169: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments If Keri or Kim want help I could read a YA or a Christian fiction.

message 170: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Group Daisy had a really good idea about first focusing on the chance books, because then if another task is still missing to finish up a round, someone who has more time could jump in and finish the task, so the whole group can move on to the next round. Maybe we could also do that?
I have finished my large Straight and will do the chance book next and then I could also help Keri or Kim if you don't have a lot of reading time available at the moment.

PS.: I'm also away for the weekend with the family, so I'm not sure if I can read much there. @Lanelle: I hope you'll have a safe trip and a blessed time with your daughter-in-law!

message 171: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie By the way Lanelle, I already finished task 6 for my large straight a while back. Maybe you missed the post ;).

Lanelle Davina wrote: "Group Daisy had a really good idea about first focusing on the chance books, because then if another task is still missing to finish up a round, someone who has more time could jump in and finish the task, so the whole group can move on to the next round..."

We could try it that way the next round if you want to.

I like to think of the Section 1 and Chance tasks as excellent places to stick random books that we read for other challenges or just because. It seems like most of Section 2 has to be read specifically for those Tasks.

Sorry for missing your Large Straight #6. It's there now.

message 173: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Hey Lanelle, you have accidentally put Kim's chance book in for both round 1 and round 2. She hasn't read for round 2 yet.

message 174: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "Hey Lanelle, you have accidentally put Kim's chance book in for both round 1 and round 2. She hasn't read for round 2 yet."

Thanks for catching that. I've fixed my mistake.

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments Hey all,
I fell and landed on my knees, which for someone with arthritis in entire body is not fun. Anyway, the doctor has placed me on pain pills which make me sleep. I haven't been able to read much because of this. I will try to make it up as soon as I can.
HUGS

I'm so sorry that you're hurt, Kim. I hope you heal as quickly as possible. Why don't you let the team take care of your 3 of a Kind Task? Then all you have to do is your Chance book.

message 178: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I'm about to read a Christian fiction book, so I can definitely do that.

I started a Chritian Fiction book yesterday. I'll definitely finish it today.

Lanelle Davina, I've been thinking about your comment about doing Round 3 differently. Would you be interested in taking charge of Round 3? Maybe a change would be a good thing. I promise you won't step on any of my toes : D

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments Thank you

message 182: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I think Team Daisy is only 1 book away from being done with their second card, and I'm almost done with the Christian fiction book.

message 183: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Keri, I read a YA book the other day, if you want to use it.

That would be great, thank you! I had planned to read another book today, but I spent all day dealing with car issues and didn’t have a book with me.

Lanelle Keri E. wrote: "I spent all day dealing with car issues and didn’t have a book with me."

Ouch! I don't which is worse: having car issues or not having a book. :)

I hope the mechanics figured out what the issue was and that it didn't cost too much.

message 186: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Sure, no problem! I'll go post it now. :)

Lanelle We're 4 books away from finishing Round 2. We should start planning Round 3.

message 192: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Lanelle wrote: "Davina, I've been thinking about your comment about doing Round 3 differently. Would you be interested in taking charge of Round 3? Maybe a change would be a good thing. I promise you won't step on..."

Hi guys, I'm back from my long weekend away. @Lanelle: what do you mean by taking charge? Do you mean writing down all the titles and points like you are doing now? If you need a change, I could do it for sure, but I'm not very good with these things, so if anyone else would like to try it - that's fine with me too.

message 193: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie PS.: I already finished number 3 of the large Straight in case you missed it ;).

message 194: by Lanelle (last edited Sep 15, 2019 10:04AM) (new)

Lanelle Davina wrote: "...Lanelle: what do you mean by taking charge?"

I just meant organizing who volunteers for which tasks, kind of like you suggested in Message 170. I would still record finished books. If you'd rather not, maybe someone else would like to give it a shot, or of course I can continue.

And I did miss your Large Straight #3. Thanks for letting me know.

Three books until we finish Round 2.

message 195: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Ok. Yeah sure :).

Do you guys have any wishes?

I think we could leave section 1 open again like we did in the last round and just put books there whenever we are reading one that fits.
But maybe we could do the chance books first? Then - if we are almost finished with the round, those already done with their tasks could help those who haven't finished yet and therefore move on quickly to the next round. Is that ok for everyone?

message 196: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments If that's what you guys wanna do, that's fine with me.

message 197: by Lanelle (last edited Sep 15, 2019 05:07PM) (new)

Lanelle Thanks for taking this Round, Davina. We'll be good for you.

Davina wrote: "Do you guys have any wishes? "

I'm in the mood for Regency romances. In fact, I started one this afternoon. Can I have the 4 of a Kind?

Also, I plan on reading a bunch of books when I get home from Las Vegas. Maybe I should ask for the 3 of a Kind, as well :)

message 198: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I can do the Small Straight again, and then just fill in wherever like this past time.

message 199: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Alright, that leaves Full House, Large Straight and Yahtzee for Keri, Kimberly and me.

Keri, Kimberly - any wishes?

message 200: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments I would love to do Yahtzee!
