Lanelle I just finished my book for Section 1, #2. I have reported it on our reporting thread and updated that information on Message 5 of this thread.

I've claimed #6 of Section 1 since no one else has asked for it. I probably won't start reading until tomorrow because my husband, son and I leaving for Texas tonight. I need to get some errands done, pack, and buy munchies for the trip.

We are taking the Amtrak to Texas. It's scheduled to take 31 hours. I will have PLENTY of time to read during the train ride :) There's WiFi, so I'm going to able to keep up with whatever happens.

Library Queen | 320 comments Hope you have a good time on your trip!

message 63: by Vinnie (last edited Aug 21, 2019 01:44PM) (new)

Vinnie I finally finished my first book. I was reading another one before that and was already over 100 pages in, but had to put it away because of some awful, unforseen content.

If it's ok, I would tackle the "Read a book that has an average rating of 4 stars or higher on Goodreads" for Yahtzee in Section 2 next.

Have a safe trip Lanelle!

Lanelle Davina wrote: "If it's ok, I would tackle the "Read a book that has an average rating of 4 stars or higher on Goodreads" for Yahtzee in Section 2 next."

Absolutely. I've put your name by that Task.

Davina wrote: "Have a safe trip Lanelle!"

Thank you. I hope to have a safe and uneventful trip :)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I just finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling for 5th book in the series or hand on the cover.
Is there a specific task you would like me to do next? I believe I have books for many of the areas.
HUGS

message 66: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I've got a book that will work for the small straight or large straight for a 3 in the page count. I'm almost done with the red book.

message 67: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Amtrak lied! There was no WiFi available on the train! So frustrating. Anyway, I'll be at my daughter's house until Monday morning.

message 68: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Tomorrow, for a different reading challenge, I'm supposed to read a mystery. Does anyone else read mysteries? Would that be a good theme for 3 of a Kind?

Or we can start the Small Straight or Large Straight with Jada.

Kim, there are some Yahtzee tasks that haven't been claimed yet if you don't like the 3 of a Kind or either of the Straight ideas.

message 69: by Library (last edited Aug 23, 2019 05:31PM) (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments My 3 is a mystery, I can do that instead, if you want.

Lanelle Library wrote: "My 3 is a mystery, I can do that instead, if you want."

Let's leave it where it is. If everyone likes the idea of mystery for the theme, then we'll go with it. One team is doing Christian Fiction for that task. Someone might want to do something else for 3 of a Kind.

message 71: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I have a couple of other mysteries too, if that's what we end up doing.

message 72: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "My 3 is a mystery, I can do that instead, if you want."

For some reason, when I saw "My 3", I thought of the 3 in Section 1. Now that I'm reading your post for the third time, I think you were talking about starting a Small Straight or Large Straight in Message 66. Sorry about that. Can I claim to be tired from my trip?

I started reading a book with 558 pages during the train ride. Jada, let's start the Large Straight with your 3 and my 5. Let's also start the 3 of a Kind using mysteries. Sound good?

message 73: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Sounds good to me! I'll start another mystery after I'm done with this one.

And absolutely. I'd be exhausted after 31 hours on a train.

message 74: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I can begin a mystery today.

message 82: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie I just finished my second book. If that's alright, I'd do the "Read a book whose title begins with Y, A, H, T, Z, or E" next.

message 84: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Keri, I've got you down for the 4 spot of the Large Straight.

Jada, I've put your name next to #3 for the Small Straight and Black Cover.

Davina, your name is by the "Y, A, H, T, Z, or E" task.

Thank you, ladies!

We leave for the train station in about 2 hours. I'll check in right before we head out. Remember, no WiFi during my trip :( I'll check in tomorrow night.

message 86: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Thanks Lanelle, I won't forget - I just didn't have the opportunity until now, since I was constantly away from home these days.

message 87: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I can do the 4 for the small straight next if that's ok.

message 88: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Davina wrote: "...I was constantly away from home these days."

*grin* I know exactly how you feel :) We got home about midnight last night. It was so nice to sleep in my own bed! Now I have a lot of catching up to do here on Goodreads.

Lanelle Quick update on what needs to be covered:

a mystery for 3 of a Kind
1 or 5 for Small Straight
2 and 1 or 6 for Large Straight
Yahtzee's read a book that a teammate or mod rated 5 stars

I am reading This Is Where It Ends right now. It could work for either 1 or 2 because of the publication date.

Great, Keri. Let's stick it in the #2 spot for Large Straight.

message 93: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I'm going to take the #1 spot for Large Straight. I'm a little more than halfway through The Grand Tour: or The Purloined Coronation Regalia (published 2014).
