Thank you, Jada.

It looks like the last Task that needs to be claimed is Yahtzee's read a book that a teammate or mod rated 5 stars. Has anyone had a chance to find a book for that category?

Also, everyone can fill in their Chance book when they get an opportunity.

message 102: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie I can claim that last task!

message 103: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Davina wrote: "I can claim that last task!"

Thank you, Davina. I'll put your name by that Task.

message 104: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle All the Tasks have be claimed now. If you're working on more than one Task and would like help, just let us know.

message 105: by Lanelle (last edited Sep 02, 2019 11:02AM) (new)

Lanelle Six Five Four Three Two books to go and we have Yahtzee!

Kim has her Chance book.
Davina has the 5 Stars task, and her Chance book.
Keri has the Full House task, the #4 for Large Straight and her Chance book. (Do you need any help? Jada and I are free.)

And then we're done!

I figured you would have them all under control. I was offering just in case.

Thank you for offering!!! I can’t believe how quickly we finished all the tasks!

We've accomplished so much in just 12 days. I think the hard part will be keeping up the momentum. I'm worried about burn-out. If anyone has any ideas to keep it fresh, let us know.

I'm always down to read more. :) I think I read 10 books for this already. You ready for round 2?

message 113: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "You ready for round 2?"

Very ready. Itchin' to start readin'.

message 114: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie Couldn't you already start on round two? It has the same requirements as round 1, right?

message 115: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Davina wrote: "Couldn't you already start on round two? It has the same requirements as round 1, right?"

I thought that I read that we couldn't start the 2nd round until we finished the 1st. I'll ask.

message 116: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Sorry it took me so long at ask, but I just got confirmation: We cannot start Round 2 until we've finished the 1st.

message 117: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments What is considered round 2? Can we redo all the challenges or is it just the Yahtzee challenges?

Lanelle Keri E. wrote: "What is considered round 2? Can we redo all the challenges or is it just the Yahtzee challenges?"

All the tasks. The whole thing.

message 119: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I peeked at Team Daisy's thread. They only have one book to finish before they are done with this round of Yahtzee.

And they are already claiming tasks for Round 2. Is that something we want to do?

Like I expressed in message 111, I'm worried about burn-out. If anyone has any ideas to keep it fresh, let us know.

message 120: by Vinnie (new)

Vinnie I'm done with all of my tasks. How many tasks are missing for us finish round 1?
I think Kimberley's chance book and is there anything else?

Vinnie Lanelle wrote: "Sorry it took me so long at ask, but I just got confirmation: We cannot start Round 2 until we've finished the 1st."

ok, but does that also mean, we cannot start reading for the second round (for example a chance book) or does it only mean, we cannot put them in the review thread yet?

Kim's Chance book and Keri's Large Straight book. Check out message 5 for a quick glance at the Tasks.

Thank you, I did look at it, but wasn't sure if Keri hadn't already finished all her tasks. But of course, you are up to date with everything. Thank you for keeping it so orderly! Also: I love the saying you put there: "Keep calm and let's do round 2" :D

About keeping it fresh: Maybe for the next round we could assign a specific section to everyone? For example I could do the four of a kind all by myself, someone else could do the small straight, someone else the large straight, etc... That way we could better prepare what books to read instead of deciding spontaneously every time we finish a book.

message 127: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I think someone on Team Daisy is already reading a long book for Round 2, so are you sure we can't start reading, and then wait to finish the book after the round starts?

So, I looked into Team Daisy's chat and they are only saying that they shouldn't post reviews for round 2, but as far as I understand, they already are reading for it. I will ask Melanie.

message 129: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "I think someone on Team Daisy is already reading a long book for Round 2, so are you sure we can't start reading, and then wait to finish the book after the round starts?"

You're right. Someone started Les Misérables and decided she wouldn't be finishing any time soon, and they are putting it towards Round 2.

message 130: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Davina wrote: "I will ask Melanie."

Thanks for checking.

message 131: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Melanie says: "You can start reading for round two, just cannot post for that round until the first round is done."

So let's go ahead and claim tasks for books you've read that weren't given a spot during Round 1.

And Davina suggested: "About keeping it fresh: Maybe for the next round we could assign a specific section to everyone? For example I could do the four of a kind all by myself, someone else could do the small straight, someone else the large straight, etc... That way we could better prepare what books to read instead of deciding spontaneously every time we finish a book."

Shall we try it for Round 2, or do you want to stick to the way we did assigned Tasks for Round 1? Or does anyone have another idea?

message 132: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments I like the idea of picking tasks up front so we know what we’re responsible for from the beginning. And we can plan which books we will read easier.

message 133: by Lanelle (last edited Sep 03, 2019 07:15AM) (new)

Lanelle Round 2 tasks are open for requests. I will put your name next to the task you ask for in message 5. Please ask for just one. Your choices are:

3 of a Kind Kim
4 of a Kind Keri
Full House Jada
Small Straight Jada
Large Straight Davina
Yahtzee Lanelle

P. S. I had Section 1 on the list, but I think I'll remove it. I think that Section doesn't require much planning, and I'll save it for unscheduled books we may read, i. e.; for other challenges, just for fun, etc. If you read a book that will fit one of the tasks in Section 1, just let me know and I'll put it in.

P. P. S. Davina and Kim, you get first dibs for Round 3 tasks, okay?

message 134: by Keri E. (new)

Keri E. (kewaites) | 56 comments I can do 4 of a kind again.

message 135: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I finished a book with a red cover this morning and I'm currently reading a book that both Megan and Melanie rated 5 stars, so I'm going to claim the Yahtzee task.

message 136: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I can do Small Straight and Full House for sure. I already have 2 for the straight, and am finishing up 1 for task #4 and can also do task 1 or 2. And then just wherever it's needed.

I've put your name down for Small Straight and Full House. Um, I didn't quite follow the rest though. Are you talking about Section 1 when you say "am finishing up 1 for task #4 and can also do task 1 or 2..."

message 138: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Yes, sorry, I wasn't clear, the book I'm reading now can work for Section 1 task 4 and the next book I'm reading can work for either task 1 for a debut, or 2 for 2 people on it.
