Perks of Being a Wallflower-There is an imaginary line separating book and movie. I am place right smack dab on the line.
I should clarify that in the case of POBAW(possibly the best acronym ever) I don't necessarily think the movie was better than the book. The book was objectively fantastic in so many ways. For some reason though, when I read it(3 times total) it just never clicked with me, but when I watched the movie it did.
Robin wrote: "The If I Stay movie was way better than the book. I loathed the book but fairly enjoyed the movie."I still need to see that, but wasn't even interested it reading it.
Tommy wrote: "Also, I think Catching Fire and at least the first part of Mockingjay can go here."I thought that Catching Fire was better than the book, but it was my least favorite of the three books.
I feel like The Giver was way better as a movie. The book kinda dragged a little. I especially like that in the movie when he crosses the border you can actually SEE the color come back for everyone else. In the book you only know what's happening with Jonas. I REALLY wish there had been a second book.
Jennifer wrote: "I feel like The Giver was way better as a movie. The book kinda dragged a little. And a third and a fourth :)
Jennifer wrote: "Is there! I friggin KNEW I saw something about there being more but my friend told me there wasn't!"Yep yep. I was really late on this one as well. I didn't find out until like late last year. I still need to read all 3, so I'll probably just start the whole series over.
That's exactly what I was talking to my friend about. (Rereading the first before I start the rest) and THAT'S when she said there weren't any. Man, I'm SOO excited right now. The ending's been killing me since I read it, like, three years ago. I need ANSWERS, man!

Jennifer wrote: "This is a happy moment."If Goodreads comments had a like button, I would've pressed it for your last comment. Just know that.
I'm the same way. Every few weeks I backpack it 4 miles to the library and stay there for hours writing then backpack it back. Books, comics(any kind of story, really) video games and music are my sanctuaries.
Not really a gamer (doesn't mean I don't get down right dirty in Mario Smash Bros, though). But music I can definitely relate to. I think pretty much everyone can.
Oh, I wouldn't consider myself a gamer either. To me the word has a ring of competitiveness and seriousness that just don't mesh with my video game playing time haha. I play solo player stuff, mostly for the story. But yea, Smash Bros brings out the devil in me haha. And music for me is strictly writing/playing it. I don't really listen to much music anymore. I might listen to less music than anyone I know haha. The few bands/musicians I do keep up with though, I love immensely.
A few cases where I feel the movie was betterElla Enchanted
Forrest Gump
The Cider House Rules (and it hurts me to type that!)
Catching Fire
Big Fish
Hello everyone. I have a book suggestion that seems to dovetail nicely with the interest of this group. For anyone interested in classic horror (not slasher!) fantasy and science fiction films (Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, Psycho, etc.) that are adapted from other sources and comparing each to see "who does it better," I hope you might be interested in the following...by yours truly. :) https://www.amazon.com/Stories-Classi...

This is a touchy subject as many will almost certainly disagree drastically with opinions shared here. So, remember, it's all in good fun. Keep it light and friendly.
I'll start by listing a few of my own.

Perks of Being a Wallflower
