A little girl witnesses a man kill his wife. The man threatens girl not to tell anyone. Girl doesn't say anything about the murder and never leaves her house again until she is an adult. Her brother has a friend who becomes friends with her. They fall in love and he wants to be with her, but she refuses to leave her house. The boy leaves to become a singer and ends up becoming a famous singer. The girl gets a master degree in library science online. The boy returns home after many years. He reconnects with girl. Something happens when boy returns home and he ends up in hospital and girl is so worried about him she leaves her home for the first time since she was a child. The girl is 28 when she leaves her house for the first time to see man in hospital. After that they spend time together until the girl sees the man who murdered his wife when she was a child. She says out loud that he is the murderer and his son is near by and hears this. The man had told his son that his mother left when he was a child. Son stops father from escaping. I read the book within the last 10 years. At the end of the story, the woman and man move to California.

There was a comment I saw that listed the name of the book, but it's gone now. The book is part of a series. Each book in the series is standalone. The cover of this book is blue with a hot male face on it.
