Hey, my name's Leah. I'm 17. I love Young Adult, but my favorite kind of books is pretty much anything paranormal. My favorite YA series is Vampire Academy, with House of Night in second.

Hey, I'm Kat. I love to read and write. I love book clubs, and I saw you are going to read Unwind (which is a great book to talk about!) and I had to join. I've been wanting to discuss that book with someone ever since I read it! I'm also a huge fan of YA, so this is a great group for me.
Okay, my turn I guess : ) I'm a 44 year old single dad who writes YA Fantasy. I just joined Goodreads recently and just now found this group. I'm anxious to see what you guys are interested in and what you think makes a good story/book!I've been an avid reader since I was 9 or 10 — mostly scifi and fantasy — and lately have decided to begin a writing career, mostly as a hobby. The first couple of chapters of my first book are posted in my writing section. Have a look if you feel like and tell me what you think. The book itself will be available in the next month or two.
I look forward to perusing the posts!
Hi all! My name is Shawn and I'm a YA fantasy author. Unlike Alan, who was brave enough to state his age, I'm not going to (lol), except to say I wrote for children's cartoons in the 1980s.
I began the YA series for my daughter at her request when she was in high school. It became a hit with her friends and the first book ALLON came out in January 2010. Since then I've been visiting local schools and getting great feedback. Have a look see.

I love to read about things that doesnt exist, worlds that are not true...made me wonder what if they are?The sky is the limit so will never know

Kayzee wrote: "I cant wait till i'm 40 and have no kids or morgage and can live lol"Wait... I was supposed to be done with my kids and mortgage at 40? Damn... I have some catching up to do! LOL Maybe I'll be there by 60!

New Zealand, Kayzee? My daughter lived in Auckland for a year studying at Massey Uni and working in film.
Wow thats a long way to go just for Uni! I live at the ass of the world right at the bottom... I never want to go to Auckland because it is so big and scary haha. I'd love to do film make up, like the stuff they did in lord of the ring (you know thats part made in N.Z right?) So who else knows were New Zealand is? It can be my new game!!
She loved Auckland and can't wait to go back. She even interviewed at WETA, the company that did the make-up for LOTR. So she's visited Wellington, ChristChurch and some places where LOTR was filmed. Learned to surf. No, oceans here in Nashville, TN -mMusic City, USA. LOL
Hello all! My name is Lauren Elizabeth, and I love YA fiction ... so much so that I write it! I just started working with Paper Lantern Lit on my first book, which I hope will sell and maybe be out next year. My favorite authors are Sarah Dessen, Megan McCafferty, Judy Blume, and John Green. I also love nonfiction, including In Defense of Food, The Know It All, and the Unlikely Disciple. My all-time favorite book is Just As Long As We're Together by Judy Blume.I live in Boston, MA and work in higher ed (because I can't yet afford to support myself with writing alone!). Feel free to follow me on Twitter (laurenemorrill) or on Tumblr (laurenemorrill.tumblr.com)
Sooooo Lauren???? Do you know were New Zealand is???And Shawn the is pretty awsome, I am yet to see most of my beautiful country and yes it is amazingly beutiful because the temperatures dont get too hot or too cold and it rains all the time. I bet your pretty proud of your daughter. I hope mine grows up to be like that lol but then again I probly wouldn't let her go hahaha only child syndrome.
Mine is also an only child. And it was HARD letting her travel to the other side of the world. Fortunately, there is the internet, email and instant messaging! LOL But figuring out the time difference was an issue. New Zealand is 21-22 hours ahead of Nashville. So I'm talking to you in the future and you're speaking to me in the past. :D
My parents and I spent about six weeks in Sydney when I was little (many, many moons ago!) We didn't get over to NZ but we did spend a week on a Fiji island on the way home.
Every one goes to Australia lol even we do because its cheaper then going somewere in our own little country!!! Any onewatch the worlds fastest indian??? that movie was made in my home town haha
Hey y'all weirdos out there xD. YA-books are the best, grownups are to boring and children are well, childish. YA-books can be about anything and still be realistic, that's why I love 'em. I live in stockholm, sweden and my library sucks, it seems like nobody here's been reading for twenty years- at least nothing intresting... Since books here are really expensive, I cannot buy that many. I usually go to librarys that arekinda far away, I lend as many as possible at the same time. Wich brings me to why I joined. I need tips and recomendations, cuz I'm all out of inspiration. By the way, I'm Klara n I'm 16. Spred the love people!!!!!!
Hey Klara!!! I reccomend The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins its amazing and the next one Catching Fire..Also for pop quiz time Klara do you know were New Zealand is, Take a guess!!!
Infinite Playlist, when my daughter was in New Zealand for a year studying, she said it was kind of a game. Like Kayzee said in Message 770 - everyone knows where Australia is - but NZ is overlooked and it's right next door. It's a Kiwi thing -(Kiwi-nickname for those living in New Zealand.)
LOL, Kayzee. My daughter LOVES New Zealand. She said the Kiwis playfully picked on her as an American, but embraced her and included her in everything! They still communicate with her on FaceBook, emails, letters, etc. In her eyes you are the most friendly people and she can't wait to go back.
Oh deffeinatly the worlds most friendly, I'v never moved away from here so I have never really tried to make friends anywere else maybe if Im tipsy but then I think everyone is lol
Hello! My name is Kourtni. I will be 23 in just a few weeks. I just joined up yesterday and I love, love, love YA fiction! Some of my favorites so far
. The list goes on and on!!This seems like a pretty solid group, im excited to have found it.
Oooh, I missed comment 770, so Kayzee's comment seemed totally out of context for me.And I thought since Lord Of The Rings (movies) everyone knows where NZ is anyway ;P
Infinite Playlist wrote: "And I thought since Lord Of The Rings (movies) everyone knows where NZ is anyway ;P"Of course they do! NZ is in Middle Earth! ; )

Hello! I'm excited to join this group. I am a Middle School Librarian and love YA books! This sounds like a great place to discuss books, and get inspiration for my students. Thanks!
Amanda & Rina, welcome.
Amanda, I visit middle schools a lot to talking about writing. In fact, I'm going to a local middle school tomorrow for career day to talk to several classes and to talk to a group of boy who are doing a fan video of my book on how to make it into a video game.

Hey everyone! My name is Emily and I'm fourteen years old and completely book obsessed. I'm also an aspiring writer with a book in the works(if you count trying to type it all up as "in the works"). I'm so excited about this group because I always have the hardest time trying to figure out what to read after I've finished a book, and I've already picked up a ton of great suggestions! So, thanks!
