I made it about a quarter into a book when I realized there's a buddy read on the 22nd. Can I just set it aside until closer to the date or will I need to start it again?

You're too early for what you've read to count for the buddy read if it's on the 22nd, as that's more than 7 days before the start date. Really you would need to start again closer to the start date, but as it's just one book we could maybe let you claim buddy read points for the 75% you read within the buddy read times? You'd just have to tell us when you post your review 'only 300 pages read as part of the buddy read'. As it's a 'read-whatever-you-want' challenge and all ☺
