Usually when you look at the book on Goodreads it will have a list of contributors under the title, whether that be author, illustrator, or translator :)

Often illustrators aren't listed on every edition, so it's best to check a few. It's also best to check if the book is tagged 'illustrated', or if the blurb mentions illustrations. You can also click through and check on Amazon, or click through to WorldCat, as they are often better at logging illustrators than Goodreads. Which book is it?

I checked and the illustrator is listed on this edition here - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... and if you click through to Amazon they have an illustrator listed for the non-audio formats. WorldCat have a different illustrator listed on one edition, but on the editions which don't have an illustrator listed, it does still state that there are illustrations. I'm afraid we would have to count that one as illustrated x

*****Moderators Announcement*****

As of October 1st, we will no longer be using 'Series-Read-Along' threads for buddy read points in our challenges. This is because people find it too hard to work out what will and will not count when using a series thread.

We will honour any series-read-along threads which have already been set up for October, but rules do still apply with regards to the fact that you and your buddy are supposed to be reading the same book, at roughly the same time.

In future, we ask that separate threads are used for each book in a series. You may set these up in advance, but you may find it easier to plan these as you and your buddy progress through the series if you both want to earn the bonus buddy read points.

From November 1st, any buddy reads submitted for our challenges which have taken place on a series-read-along thread, will not receive any buddy read points.

Two questions from a newbie to the challenges this month..

1. Do I have until 11:59 pm my time to post reviews on the last day of the month? Wasn't sure how that works being in all different time zones..
2. If I am halfway through any books at the end of the month can I post still for those pages to count? How does that work as far as posting a review and any buddy reads that were going on?

Uh not really. The challenge ends at midnight PST. There's a tiny bit of wiggle room. It really depends on when Sarah is up. You can START in your time zone though. Particularly if it's earlier than Goodreads time.

Hi Heather and Bookbuyer,

we run the challenges on Goodreads time zone, which is PST. All challenges officially start and finish on PST, but we do allow people to start early if they are on an earlier time zone, as long as they finish on their own time zone too.

As for finishing, the challenge ends on PST, and any reviews posted after that time won't be counted. This means that you can finish early, but you cannot finish late.

Pages read of books that aren't finished by the end of the month, can be used to claim points. You can choose to write either a mini review the same way you'd normally post a review, you can write a mini review on your team review thread, or you can submit status updates. For buddy reads we still need to see detailed comments, although we will give a bit of wiggle room on how many comments. The minimum would be 2, but if you've read more than 100 pages we would expect more.

Any active series threads, and any series threads already added to the calendar can continue to be used until November 1st. Any that are not active, or have not been added to the October Calendar cannot be used for buddy read points from Octboer 1st x

Hi Jill, I'm afraid the rule is that comments must be within 14 days of the start date, or within 14 days of the last comment on the thread to count. I will count it just this once as you were obviously on the thread on the 17th, but in future, we prefer you to make multiple posts, and not dump all your comments in one post (unless your buddies go back to the thread and specifically look, they will have no idea or notification that you have added comments as you've just edited a post, and discussing the book is kind-of the point).
