What drug is she addicted to?
Is this book for older adults or teens (young adults)?
As you can imagine, I don't remember very well, but I think it was kidnapped for a political reason and maybe money?I don't know if initially they were more kidnappers and after a while just one remained with her, but I feel like this was the case.
I think she was addicted to heroin. The book is actually about how she is going trough this very harsh withdrawal, she had a near to death experience because of it.
The book is from the 80', 90'or even before. I don't think it was an YA.
The book it's written before the 2000s. I guess it was written after 1940-1950 but it's just a guess.
It's about a girl that is abducted. She's a teen. Her mother( or father?) was a prime-minister ( not in USA, not in Europe, I think it might be South America).
I have the impression that the action took part in South America but I am not sure.
After she is abducted her kidnapper is trying to help her (even though he doesn't want initially) to overcome the drug addiction. She passes through a withdrawal and she comes clean afterwards. I remember they used a specific expression for that withdrawal that involved a dragon.
She didn't have a good relationship with her parents.
After many months she is cured and she is eventually falls in love with the kidnapper.
