Which one should I read from the Egypt

I have not read all of them , in general I would say it depends on your taste .
If you are interested in mixing History and politics in fiction I would recommend The Map of Love , soueif's other book Cairo: My City, Our Revolution is a collection of articles discussing 2011 revolution and after .
Among Mahfouz's books you mentioned Midaq Alley, Miramar, The Thief and the Dogs; I think Miramar will be the best one to portray Egypt philosophically or metaphorically in a critical turning point in history.
No One Sleeps in Alexandria is an excellent read to transport you to Alexandria during WWII, it captures the time and the place , it is also one of the best 100 Arab novels .
The Yacoubian Building can give you a sour real image of Egypt today , also the same can be said about Moon Over Samarqand yet I do not recall most of it !
Granada is not about Egypt at all , besides this is only the first part of a trilogy and only this one is available in English .
We read some of these books in the group if you would need to check any discussions .
