I can't wait for the weather to change its been so miserably hot here (Southern CA). What about a classic like Poe or Lovecraft?

Dark Harvest by whom? There are several books with that name on Goodreads. Thanks!
Cassie wrote: "If you mean this Dark Harvest, it's amazing!"That sounds about perfect for the fall/halloween theme.
I suggest House of Leaves not sure if everyone has done it yet but it's filled with atmosphere (5 1/2 minute hallway or the quarter for those who have read it.) and it's interactive to boot.
I think a classic halloween story would be awesome. I mean, we can only read it once a year in the right atmosphere isn't? It is not the same watching Halloween on february as it is on October. Just sayin'
I recoomend https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... The first book to actually scare me in along time and a fresh new look at a old setting.
There are a few I can think of, but I'm assuming I'm constrained to one nomination, so I have to go with Stewart O'Nan's brilliant "The Night Country".I read it every Halloween anyway (actually, the audiobook is great, so I often listen to it instead), and I'd love some company and for more people to read this book! :-)

Nice! That's going on my to-read list regardless.
The Night Country

Dark Harvest was terrific, as was The Halloween Man by Clegg, and The Pumpkin Man by Everson. However, my vote is Harvest Moon, since I like James Moore and have yet to read this.

Something from Robert McCammon? I just finished "Gone South" and while I know that one isnt "horror" it at least showed me what an amazing author he is. Maybe "Swan Song" or "Blue World"?

I 2nd the wicked. Never heard of it but the synopsis sounds cool and it got good reviews. The Troop sounds pretty good also.
