Renee (elenarenee) I love this book. It is ne o my favorite reads of last year. You are in for a treat. I just feel bad this group has shifted from discussions to a challenge group.

Melinda | 117 comments This will be my first time reading this book. The premise seems interesting - definitely never thought I’d be reading a book about a man stuck in a hotel. But hey, that’s why I joined this book club - to get out of my book box.

Jen from Quebec :0) (muppetbaby99) | 68 comments I only have a few bucks left on my Amazon account, so atm I cannot afford this e-book....BUT, the author's acclaimed book Rules of Civility Rules of Civility by Amor Towles is currently on sale on Amazon for 2$! 2 bucks for a classic by our current author, Amor Towles ! THAT one I CAN buy. Thought that I would post here about the sale, as people might want to read more by Amor Towles before/after 'Gentleman in Moscow'. --Jen from Quebec :0)

Sue I read this one last year and it quickly became one of my favorite books. Very heartwarming and sometimes really funny.

Laura H L (laurah30) | 648 comments I read this book last year as well - very enjoyable. Happy reading!

Shelley This has been on my radar for quite a while, so I'm anxious to finally read it.

Nicole Marthinsen (nikkiemarthinsen) I’m picking up a copy later today I look forward to starting it tonight(:

Nelson R. | 28 comments I started this book a couple days ago and i like it that is gradually getting better from the first chapter. This is all new to me and I am amaze what i been missing out from reading overall.

Steffy (steffywhoelse) I bought a copy for this month’s pick. Also saw that Bill and Melinda Gates suggested it for the summer reading challenge! I still don’t know what it is about but I’m already excited to dive into it.

Yes, it only gets better and better as it goes on!

Lensey This has been on my to-read list for a while. I'm hoping to go pick up a copy at the library today. Looking forward to it!

Michael Ruger | 1 comments Just started the book. Looks like its going to be a good one. Excited to get into it.

PattyMacDotComma I loved it! The people, the times, the unusual story. I must go find the spoiler thread and see what people are saying. My review doesn’t have any spoilers, but I know some people like to open a book knowing nothing.

nitisha | 9 comments I am looking forward to reading this book as I have seen it appear on a lot of groups and lists lately

Betsy | 930 comments I have been wanting to read this book for a couple of years, and luckily it has just been made available at my library (sorry Catherine, I was on the waiting list for a long time too... I understand your pain).

It's the type of book that you hear a lot about without hearing what it's actually about.

I can't wait to talk about it with you all soon when I get into it.

message 17: by Bob (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bob (tertullus) | 1 comments Don't worry about what this book is "about". It is about a man in a hotel just like "The Old Man and the Sea" is about a guy fishing. It is one of the best books I have read in years. It stayed on the NY Times best seller list for so long that I knew there must be something good about it, just like "Cold Mountain".

nitisha | 9 comments I am struggling a little through this since it is slower than my usual reads but still trying to finish it this month itself.

message 19: by Mackenzie (new) - added it

Mackenzie (snmackenz) | 4 comments Has anyone gotten an audiobook of this? It’s not available through my library and was wondering if it was worth it to get the audio book.

Renee (elenarenee) I enjoyed the audio book. I listened on a car trip. It was well performed.

Robin Redden | 248 comments I'm about half way through this one and I find myself reading more slowly than I usually do to savor all of the beautiful language and the story. It's just marvelous.

We chose this book as our October 2022 Bookshelf Catch-Up Selection. Will you be reading it and why?

I read it a year or two ago, and really enjoyed it, though I do have one significant hang-up. I've just finished reading through the spoilers thread, and had some further thoughts provoked. (I would actually love to respond there, but at the moment it's locked.) Can't wait to see the discussion.

Jan Z (jrgreads) | 402 comments I read it with my book club. I was the only one who did not like it. I was bored to tears. Do you want to hear what I have for breakfast everyday? Please say yes.

message 26: by Andi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Andi | 367 comments It has been on my TBR for a while, looking forward to the discussion.

JoJo_theDodo Same here! It's been sitting on my shelf for awhile now, so this will be a good time to read it.

Christy Baker Mackenzie, I am listening to the audiobook from my library and very much enjoying it.
