SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. A hidden hotel which only children can find, where time flows slowly. One of the hotel staff is described as a monster that lives in the attic. Named Karma maybe. Book was read to me in 2006-2007. Is likely a YA book or fantasy [s]

Ryan | 3 comments I posted the year it was read too me as a guideline that the book must be before that year, how much before I cant be certain.
Additional Details: The main character was a male boy, tho I can't recall his age. The setting prior to finding the hotel was a run down city neighborhood.

Krazykiwi | 152 comments I want to say this is Kage Baker's The Hotel Under the Sand but it is a couple of years too new. Still, throwing the suggestion out to you, just in case.

good suggestion concept is really close I don't remember the presence of ghosts. However, it did help me recall a few more things. I'm still rather new to the site so should I amend the topic with that information or leave it here in the comments?

Krazykiwi | 152 comments Up to you, but you probably have enough in the topic to get anyone with an idea to click through (I did, anyway). Maybe add additional details to the first post, as they come up, so they're all in one place.

Unfortunately for me, that was the only idea I had. I hope you find your book :)

Sue Elleker | 1053 comments I think this is 'The Thief Of Always' by Clive Barker. One of the servants is called Carna.
