This book is about a society where the children take a test at a young age (10 or so) to see where they get placed in society. The main character fails the test, runs away and his family thinks he is dead. He stays hidden in the streets and watches out for his family in hiding. When a family gets the plague or one member of the family gets it, the government puts a red X on the door, and later takes them away. The boy finds out his brother gets it, and breaks into the hospital to get some antidote/medicine. He is caught and jumps out the hospital window, and in doing so injures his leg. He heads for the sewer to escape but is followed by the head officer control guy. The boy throws a knife and thinks it hits him in the shoulder, when in reality it hit him in the heart. Come to find out, the daughter of this Officer guy is really smart but gets in trouble all the time at her institution school place. She gets in trouble for climbing super high buildings at school and stuff. It might be at like a college level. Anyway, PLEASE HELP!!
