Part 1 - (view spoiler)[Really liking this so far. In the beginning, the fight scene and Eve reminded me of Cinder and Real Steel (the movie) and the robot fight scene in Spy Kids 3 (recently rewatched this with my niece so it's still fresh in my mind haha).

Normally sci-fi and books about robots/androids etc aren't my thing but it's so fascinating. The flashback snippets are confusing me. Hoping that they'll make sense later on in the book.

Part 2 - (view spoiler)[Ahhh so I think I get it now. Eve was originally a girl called Ana whose parents/father created the lifelikes. She was in love with Ezekiel and that was all in secret. Two of the other lifelikes were in love but one got killed in an attack on the family. The father then wanted to make the lifelikes into fighting killing machines to protect his family and also because he was a bit mad. Then the lifelikes except Ezekiel turned on the family and killed them, Ana survived, Doctor Silas took her away and changed her name to Eve and pretended he was her grandfather and that's Eve's backstory. Wow. What a lot of take in haha.

I love that Eve's personality is so much different from Ana's. Like Ana was very romantic and wanting a happy ending and everything was roses, and Eve is this badass fighter who's afraid of nothing and will take what she needs to survive. Love the contrast. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3 - (view spoiler)[Waittttttttttttt - Lem is the real one frying this machines??? And Ezekiel shot Eve/Ana?!?!? What great twists and reveals!! Really sad about Kaiser though! (hide spoiler)]

Part 4 (Finished) - (view spoiler)[Eve is a Lifelike of Ana?!? The real Ana is in a coma somewhere?!?! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT? For real, I loved this book and the twists and it was so great. I'm sad that Silas died, and Cricket almost died, but he's got a new body now, and especially sad that Eve left Lem, Zeke and Cricket to team up with Gabriel? What the fuck? Is she a bad guy now? Doesn't make any sense that she would turn her back on Lem and Cricket! I loved their friendship. Why would she go to the bad side?? I need to read the next book to make sense of all this! Chapter 2.0: Reunion - (view spoiler)[Still confused at how quickly Eve turned. Like almost instantly, once she found out she's a Lifelike, she's like right I'm gonna join the bad guys. Pls Eve. Don't. Remember Lem and Cricket. (hide spoiler)]

Part 1 - (view spoiler)[Interesting to see we're getting a mix of POVs in this book. In Lifelike, Eve was very much the main character, with occasional POVs from other characters. But because of what's happened so far, the team is split up and to get a better picture, we're getting POV from everyone.

Still not happy about Eve. How is she evil already???

I think its also interesting that Lem was the sidekick character in the first book and now she's like the chosen one. Weird to see those dynamics change but I love Lem and I hope she can help redeem Eve.

Poor Cricket. Being forced to fight. Also, I must have missed in the first book that he was originally only 40cm tall. He might have been my favourite character in the first book but I didn't realise he was so small. I hope he can fight his way out from Sister Dee. (hide spoiler)]

Part Two - (view spoiler)[Okay, so I'm starting to understand a bit why Eve wants to kill Ana. Because her whole existence was based on that girls life and she had to step into her shoes and become that person without any choice. Although I think it's fair to say her time as Eve, surely the relationships she made during that time were geniuine and she could have just gone off with Lem to live her life.

What are the chances that Lem is the Major's granddaughter? Absolutely crazy. But I really like Grimm and I'm shipping him with Lem. They're good together I think. Not really liking Diesel. I hate the trope of girls not liking other girls because they might be threatened by another girl being there. Annoying. (hide spoiler)]

Part Three (Finished) - (view spoiler)[Wow. That was such a downer ending! So the Major wasn't Lem's grandfather at all?? I knew it was fishy that they were related and I didn't fully trust the Major, but those reveals had me gasping! I need the next book like now! I need answers!

Also, Eve seemed be to wavering on her beliefs. Could she come back to the good side? And did Grimm manage to stop the bomb? It seems like the bomb hit New Bethlehem, but I'm hoping something happened and they survived. They can't all be dead!

It's good to be back in this world, though it is a somewhat depressing one. The characters, from what I remember, are so much fun! We'll see how this one goes...

(view spoiler)[ I had a hard time getting into this book...Maybe it was the change to Lemon being the main character, but I struggled in the beginning. Especially after Eve, Lemon, Zeke, and Cricket all got separated. I usually like books with alternating POV's but this one is hard for me to keep up with. By the time I got back to one of their arcs, I had forgotten what was happening. It could be because I was reading this book in much smaller chunks than I normally read books, but I struggled to get hooked until after the first part. I'm anticipating this to be like every other Jay Kristoff book and will pick up with a HUGE ending! (hide spoiler)]

Part 1-

(view spoiler)[ Everyone is on their own right now. I still like Eve's POV the most only because I know more about her from the first book, but I'm very excited to learn more about Lemon. Eve is just MEAN in this book! DANG!!! So much hate going on... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ This is starting to pick up for me now! Lemon has found some new friends (or more deviates) and the Major is her grandfather! I'm really enjoying Grimm, and I always like when characters have to go through a training session to figure out their magic or power in books. So I'm excited for this! However, I'm having a hard time keeping all the new side characters straight, so that makes it hard for me to keep up. And the lingo and slang in this is just a tiny bit annoying for me... Part 3-

(view spoiler)[ The pacing here is so much better than the beginning. SO. MUCH. BETTER! I wish there was a bit more training for Lemon. That just kind of ended... And Fritz :( WHAT??! Just when I was starting to learn who he was in this book!!!!! I started to wonder about Lemon's grandfather, so I wasn't too shocked that he wasn't really her grandpa, but was a bit surprised to find out his connection to Abraham! (hide spoiler)]

Ending-

(view spoiler)[ I liked this okay, and I'm very curious to see what happens next. I think it will end up being a little forgettable for me because I didn't feel like a ton of unique things happened at the end of this book. Don't get me wrong, I liked it overall, and the ending was way better than the beginning of the book, but I didn't LOOOOOVE it. I don't love huge cliffhangers, and this one was massive! HA! I'm hoping that Eve started to see who she was becoming...it looked like she was starting to have some doubts. But I am very curious about the next book! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[That was possibly the most dramatic cliffhanger I've ever encountered! It's really hard to compete with half of the characters possibly getting blown up by a nuclear bomb.
Overall, my thoughts on the entire book are as follows: The pace was constantly charging forward in the most suspenseful way, which I loved. I also liked how this book focused more on Lemon, whose character I've come to enjoy so much. The reason that I rated this four stars, however, is more of a "it's me, not you" kind of problem. Reading this book is just so damn depressing! But besides that, I highly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the third. (hide spoiler)]

First quarter - (view spoiler)[ This audiobook is insanely good! I’m reading physically whilst listening along to the audio. From the very first moment, when the robotic voice was introduced, I was in love! I love the early repetition of the tagline on the cover - your life is not your own. It is a super intriguing start, and this is heightened with the first line of the actual book - they kill my father first. Yes, Jay! Giving us all of the sinister vibes!

Following this sinister start is some of the most adorable character names. How can you not love a characters called Lemonfresh and Cricket?? I’m a little confused by what exactly each of the characters are. There’s a dog who is not a dog (I’m getting less hellish Mister Kindly vibes…) and a boy who is not a boy but looks like one. It’s early days but I feel I’m going to love this one! Also, grandparents in books hurt my heart and I don’t think I’m ready for the emotions he is going to bring to the story! (hide spoiler)]

There’s been a lot of fighting so far and I want to get back into the gritty details surroundings the robotic advancements in this world. Kaiser has my heart and is my favourite part of this book.

Once the fighting was done my intriguing was once again heightened, only to feel like the story stalled on the issue of Anna/Evie that I thought was pretty obvious to the reader, to an extent, but took the protagonist far too long to figure out. (hide spoiler)]

I'm intrigued by the obvious forgotten history with Braintrauma and Evie/Ava. Also curious what the deal is with "grandpa" since Faith hinted that he's not actually her family. Did you catch that one of the shooters who killed her family was names Faith as well? Coincidence?? (hide spoiler)]

I find them too angsty, too romantic, and the characters sometime too sassy. This wasn’t a bad book but I can’t say I thoroughly enjoyed it, either. The ending and some of the twists, though. They had me shook! Things I loved and some other things that weren't personally suited to my tastes so settling at a 3.5 stars for this one. (hide spoiler)]

I loved learning about Eve/Ana's background with her and like how now that she has her real memories back she struggles between who she was and who she is now. I appreciate that she doesn't immediately 100% trust Ezekiel and isn't automatically swooning over him. Lemon Fresh is one of my favorites, for cert ;) I adore her sense of humor and the sarcasm that drips from her mouth at every turn. Cricket is hilarious and perfection. I'm anxious to find out more about this lady in Armada that Ezekiel is taking them to and to learn more about this mysterious Preacher guy. (hide spoiler)]

So many things happened here... Preacher - what is he exactly?! There so much metal in him. Assuming the Corp wants Ana because of her ties to the Monrova family but curious to watch that play out. Ezekiel SHOT HER?!?!? I feel like there is a lot more to this though from his interactions with Hope at the end too. And Lemon is the one with powers??? Did not see that one coming........

It's also very interesting to consider what it would like to have the thought capacity of an adult but with absolutely no life experiences since that's really not possible in a human. That was really one of my favorite parts of the story.. It really makes you stop and think. And man, the more I read this series the more it's starting to feel like a PG rated Nevernight.
